2-2. about mid-way through the 2nd.
Title: 2-2 SLU, Yale
Post by: lynah80 on March 20, 2009, 05:14:39 PM
Yale is clearly the better skating team.  SLU is hustling to try to stay caught up, but at times, they look like they are scrambling.

SLU is hanging in there with opportunistic goal scoring.

The game has been fairly clean with respect to penalties.

B2 video quality is okay, about as good as Redcast.

Yale goes out on a signature offensive breakout and gets burned by a SLU breakaway comeback.  Lots of fast skating.  Great save by Petizian.  Richards beaten on a shot from the doorstep.

See saw tilts back to slu. 2 min left in the 2nd.
Title: SLU 3 Yale 2, 2nd Intermission
Post by: lynah80 on March 20, 2009, 05:36:38 PM
4 on 4 when 3rd period starts.

The game is a lot like what fans would expect.  Both teams are playing their games.  Its fast and for the most part clean.  Yale is the more skilled and precise team.  SLU is more chaotic, but compensating with lots of hustle.   Petizian is having a pretty good game.  He stoned Little on a shot that lead to the SLU breakaway and goal.

Shots are: Yale 23, SLU 21
PP Shots: Yale 7, SLU 3
Faceoffs:  Yale 16, SLU 26

Since we play one of these teams regardless of the result of our game...

I can't decide which team I want to play less. (PWR be damned, I simply mean "play with the hopes of winning.")

Even strength.  Same score.  Under 6:00 to go.

Should the score hold (4:20 left), I do not want an NC$$ playoff berth depending on us beating Yale. ::worry::

Let's hope this game doesn't go multiple overtimes.

edit: Looks like it won't.

Wow, Yale goes up 4-3. 1:06 left.

2-1. Slut defender got a hold of the puck, but instead of getting it over the blue line, tips it to yale, slut defender stumbles, and nice pass, puck in net.

Mason to Nelson, beautiful play by Yale.

Time out SLU 1:06 to go.

Yale scores 2 in less than 30 seconds.

It looked like SLU was going to win.

The missed a big opportunity when they didn't score during the 5 on 3.  They only had one SOG during.  Oh well.

Yale is a scary team. Those 2 quick goals at the end were incredible. If I'm a team in one of the other leagues, I really don't want Yale in my bracket.

Basically you don't want to go to New Haven.

At least one poster on USCHO say the ice conditions are less than ideal and that players were falling.  Sounds like business as usual for Albany.

Wow.  How'd he look?  I was pretty well resigned to the fact that he wouldn't play.  Could you tell if there was an extra forward out there and he was just testing it out?

Yeah, but most will still stay clear of New Haven!::whistle::

Disclamer:  I actually enjoyed visiting and dining in NH.  The town and school are fine by me.
