I'll be there - will probably join the group watching the basketball game at a local bar, then head to the KnipsiUniobocker to catch the last part of the early game. I'm part of a rather large group, but most of them will speak up for themselves in this thread, so as far as that goes: me + mha.
Me plus one. It's her rookie season for Cornell hockey fandom, so please, be gentle. ;-)
Me, my wife Jaime, and my daughters who will be making the trip to Albany for the first time. The older daughter was at Lake Placid in '96 and '97, but since she was 2 and 3 years old remembers little, other than being taken out on the ice between periods in her Cornell sweatshirt by the bear (Margot P.) The younger daughter was not born yet, so this will be her first championship weekend.
Me +5 or so. Happy to be spending half of spring break watching hockey.
Me +1. Will probably miss most of the first semifinal due to work and travel.
myself + 2... backed out of a spring break camping trip at the last minute to go... yay for stretching out my undergrad hockey experience as much as possible :)
Me + 3, I hope.

I'll be there.

*shrug* His participation here is on the sporadic side.
me +2 for friday, +5 for saturday. Will be at the early game on Friday as well.
Definitely be there. Want to find a bar or sports bar nearby to watch Cornell basketball. It seems possible to watch hoops, last period of Yale-St. Lawrence, and then the Cornell-Princeton nightcap.
I'll be there with the 2 kids, and possibly another Cornell family
I'll be there.
In for Friday night and Saturday.
I'll be there with my brother (He captained the Oberlin College hockey team back in 1973-74 before they dropped the sport.)
Be wearing the #15 Giuliani red Alternate style shirt.
I'll be there with 6 or 7 others.
This thread makes me sad. Because I can not go this year.
I'm there, +1
I thought they're ALL old style.
Unless you're talking about the "vintage" pre-Harkness shirts with the diagonal "Cornell". the ones with the bear on the shoulder, or the awful late 70's art deco shirt.
I'll be there plus three.
I'll be there +3 (all alums).
Amusingly, we represent 4 consecutive classes ('76 through '79).
Karl
:-( Can't make it.
But at least I'll be at my kids mite and squirt tournaments in Hershey, PA watching 8+ games. ::banana::
In +1
Heading to Albany on Friday
I'm there plus 4. I've been there every year Cornell's made it in the last 4 years or so, but have yet to find a bar on Saturday night post-game where Cornell people gather. Any suggestions? Did I miss this topic?

In years CU has won the Whitelaw, the big celebratory gathering was always at Jillian's on Pearl St. Hopefully, that's where the Saturday gathering will be again this year!
Janice and I will be sitting just below the broadcast booth. They often have the basketball on in the box. Our Eli alum will be in NYC with his middle school track team.

Except for the year it wasn't. In 2005, Jillian's wouldn't let the underage players in and I think everyone ended up back in the Crowne Plaza bar.
I'll be there +1
Will be present and accounted for.

Right, right. But I still think a good number of CU fans who were already inside stayed. The Cup & team did go to the Crowne Plaza bar. Actually, because Jillian's management acted like jerks that year is the reason why I didn't suggest them for this year's pre-game basketball viewing gathering place.
But all is forgiven if Cornell wins the tourney? ;)

Yes. Unless they act like jerks again. ;-)

I thought we were in the Crowne Plaza for two years, but I think one of those did not involve the Whitelaw.
One of those definitely did not involve the Whitelaw. It did involve a certain 6-2 drubbing by Harvard, however...

But was followed by two amazing games in Green Bay.
Has the Large single C on the front ... was the shirt "Pegs" wore and then auctioned for fund raising.

Those would be the one-off, auctioned-off Rbk third jerseys from the Sacred Heart game (http://www.elynah.com/?photob&id=159) in 2004. Not really "old style" so much as "alternate reality."
True. But I like them. :-)
I wasn't passing judgment. I own the Dryden one. I'm just saying "old style" implies they wore something like it in the past.
Both L & J will be there.
+ 4 for Friday, + ??? for Saturday.
I'll be there plus 5 or 6. Can't wait...hope we draw a lot of the traveling Red.
Myself + 2
My family of four will be there.
Agreed it's 'alternate' so changed original post to say that -
LGR
Anyone want to overdose on the Big Red this weekend?
1. Arrive Albany to see Cornell hoops at 3 p,m.
2. Cornell-Princeton hockey
3. New Haven Saturday for lacrosse (Reese Stadium 1:30)
4. Back to Albany for hockey

And follow the wrestling on ESPN360 during the intermissions.
Already planning for road trip to New Haven (if weather's OK) with Al. If we beat Princeton. Anybody else?
I'm there plus 2. Where will there be a possible basketball viewing? (or has it not really been decided yet)

I called the Bayou Cafe today. They basically said that they don't take reservations or anything, but if we showed up they would put the game on for us.
Bayou Cafe
79 N. Pearl St.
Albany, NY 12207
It's about 3 blocks north of the Arena on Pearl St.
Uh...anyone know what channel it's on in Albany? Local CBS?
I'm very quiet and reserved, especially about hockey.
I'm very quiet and reserved, especially about hockey.
Well, it's about time.
pretty sure its CBS 6!
I just posted a ticket for sale for Friday's games, due to Somers being sick today. If she bounces back tomorrow, she might be up for the Saturday games. I offered to come back to get her, but if anyone is leaving from the Boston area on Saturday, it would be great if she can snag a ride.
Call me on my cell: 508-816-6603
Many thanks.
Ok, decided to drive to Albany in time for bball. Only are the Bayou mentioned here, so I guess we'll show up there and hope to see others.

Should we chant Killer's cell number at the game? ::nut::
I'm dragging a friend from Texas who couldn't care less about hockey to albany tomorrow. Is there anything exciting/road tripy to see on the road from Ithaca to Albany that might make it see more enticing to her?
Howe Caverns? (http://www.howecaverns.com/)
There's a camel and a llama on some random from on 206 between 81 and 88.
I'll be there Saturday. (Beats the hell out of watching Air Force and Mercyhurst in the AHA title game.)

Excellent idea. But use my new number:

(Which resolves as YALE U SUCKS)
