Apparently the recession is hurting the Onion students. Not as many of them as there were last week since they have to pay for tickets.

Onion ties it up at 1.

I honestly thought 90% of the Union crowd was rugrats.

Bonni wants to watch a different lame reality show, so I can stay.

Vermont is up 3-1 on UNH in the first.  Without taking other games into account a Vermont sweep (they play again tomorrow) could knock UNH below Cornell in the PWR (from 8 to 11).  Cornell would move up from 10 to 9.

Either the RPI or Dartmouth band is playing "Crazy Train."  It's a very, um, interesting rendition.  You have to imagine all the guitar parts as horns.

I think the Onion students are given free tickets some time on Friday if the ticket sales are at their typical low level.  Though I admit this info is at least a year old and if I am wrong then the cost of tickets would be right on.

Don't blink, or you'll miss a goal. Union ties it up at 3. I didn't realize that this was a "defense optional" series.

I thought it might be an ECACHL thing... i.e. it is a playoff game in the league wants a piece of the gate. Sort of how the ECACHL makes the fans pay B2 for video during the playoffs, even if we bought our school's video packagae and they are home games. ::cuss::

Now OT.  Also of note RIP is using freshman York in net.  Their announcers claimed he saved the game in the last minute of regulation.

Eavesdropping on USCHO. (http://board.uscho.com/showpost.php?p=4180649&postcount=548) Sounds like ONE union student bought a session ticket ($15) as of Tuesday,  The first 200 students get in free.

It's the RPI band.  They played it while we were in town.  I remember not knowing what song it was until at least halfway through, then having to convince the people I was sitting with that it was Crazy Train.

Q wins in OT
Title: Quinnipiac 3 Colgate 2 Final
Post by: lynah80 on March 06, 2009, 09:38:13 PM
Brandon Wang Wong scores in over time.  Quinnipiac must be really glad he is back, but is his knee healthy?

Quinnipiac's Bryan Leitch (11, 42 ,53) took a 10 minute penalty for slashing the goalie after the whistle in the first period.

you mean something normal like where ESPN reports the leagues scores a-z except for the Ivy which comes after the Horizon league but the Independent teams come before it.

Yes.  I could have done that, too, as I wanted them all on the same side.  In fact, it would have been better, as that would have highlighted upsets.  Look for this in the SP2.

To be clear, 'it' refers to the Horizon League, in that ESPN first lists the Independents, then the Horizon League, then the Ancient Eight.

I don't know what the hell you're talking about. Soccer's the only sport that normally puts the home team first. Everyone else follows the home-team-right/bottom convention. So if anyone's using a "weird-ass soccer thing," it's you.

Actually, I think it's a European thing, like writing "9 March" instead of "March 9".  Swiss and German ice hockey results and schedules are also listed with the home team first.

Dealing with space constraints, not including "Cornell" in the game score on every line seemed obvious. The score follows the home-team-last convention. Since some people seem to have difficulty with this rather simple concept, I also included "W/L" and made wins bold. Arbitrarily picking one team to always appear first or last is assy.

There is nothing arbitrary about listing the score and giving the result from the same POV.

Which is why I restored the convention above.  It did get us through the weekend, though.  And everybody used "assy."  That's always good.
