Obviously not pleased, but just think about how Schafer is going to light a fire under their asses during practice the next couple weeks.  It will be all about the "you have to earn everything" mentality.

Schafer as alternative energy source in the Finger Lakes. You'd need a heat exchanger.

Losing probably hurts our PWR a lot more than a tie, which is probably more important than a 2 vs a 3 seed.

These refs are not very good, to be fair.
Title: Re: Cornell 2 at Brown 2 (3rd period)
Post by: billhoward on February 28, 2009, 09:14:17 PM
Last time Cornell got an OT (GWG) SHG? It's hard enough to remember Cornell SHGs. Yale had something like 7 SHGs this season.

[moot point - Brown draws its own penalty. Cornell gets about :52 of PP]

Announcers make good point that loss to Brown is the kind of thing that could cost Cornell an NCAA bid if we don't win the ECACs.

now they need to sweep the series in 2 weeks to give them the best chance to get into the ncaa without winning the ecac.

Keeps us at 11, without taking other games into account.  Losses are much more damaging right now.
fair to greening, or fair to the refs?
I take that back. The referees tonight were simply incompetent (especially Chip McDonald). They were the worst I've seen in the past few years. They blew incorrect whistles all night. And none of those cowards had the balls to call the boarding penalty in OT when Mugford got cross-checked from behind and flew into the board head-first.

On a good note, our team did play above that and came out with a well-deserved W.
