Sigh, and mine was Harvard.
Sigh, and mine was Harvard.
Don't feel bad. Sperris' was last year's SF.
Game thread record, last two seasons*:
* Except for the BU game, for which I could not find a game thread.
I think that's because everyone was at the game.
I didn't quite catch all of them, but several players are out -- at least Scali and one of the Kennedys.
I didn't quite catch all of them, but several players are out -- at least Scali and one of the Kennedys.
Both Kennedys are out along with Scali. Brandon Thomas believes the Kennedy brothers are injured (Patrick obviously dinged up in the North Country last weekend, and Mike was apparently in street clothes for practice this week) while Scali may just be a healthy scratch. Here are lines from his IJ blog:
15 Greening - 14 R. Nash - 20 Barlow
17 Kary - 9 Roeszler - 8 Jillson
12 Collins - 27 Gallagher - 22 J. Devin
23 Punches - 21 Mugford - 29 Nicholls
4 Ross - 3 Seminoff
24 B. Nash - 2 M. Devin
7 Ta. Davenport - 5 Krueger
30 Scrivens .. 35 Garman ... 1 Tr. Davenport
Also, scratches worth noting for Quinnipiac include: Lampe (10g, 10a), Wong (7g, 11a), and Liimatainen who's key on the blue line for them. Their freshman netminder Dan Clarke will be starting with Bud Fisher backing him up.
Dickinson for Q one-times a juicy rebound past a screened Scrivens.
Collins with a great chance, followed by Scrivens stoning Atkinson on a clean breakaway.
Huge Quinnipiac breakaway.. We're not gonna last
4x3 pp coming up for us. Let's make something happen here.
A couple of very good chances on the 4x3, but good shot blocking from Q keeps up off the board.

That was weak. Our feet weren't moving at all.
Somehow Jason is getting "Ar-dwan" out of Beaudoin ;)
B. Nash PPG on a one-timer blast from Riley!
STUPID CAMERA WAS TOO SLOW. WE COULD NOT EVEN SEE THE PUCK GO IN THE NET
STUPID CAMERA WAS TOO SLOW. WE COULD NOT EVEN SEE THE PUCK GO IN THE NET
Quiet, Bill.
28-14 Princeton; Cornell can't score.
We're getting great set ups from the first pp unit. The Kary-Roeszler-Jillson combo is really ragged. Scrivens' save on the breakway is the defining moment of the game so far.
Men losing by 12 at PU approaching the half.
29-20 Princeton at the half
29-20 in the locker room.
Harvard sucks. Yale up 2-1 after 1.
Brandon Wong will miss the rest of the regular season and possibly the playoffs due to a knee injury.
Harvard sucks. Yale up 2-1 after 1.
They're only down by 1? They're better than us!
Shots: Yale 20, Harvard 4
Seminoff took a penalty.
Now down 5 with 15 to go in the 2nd half. 32-29 princeton
Somehow Jason is getting "Ar-dwan" out of Beaudoin ;)
In Jason's defense, there is both a Beaudoin and an Arduin.
Last year in section a:
"WHAT DO BRENDON WONG AND KEVIN DU HAVE IN COMMON?!"
Crowd looks on bemusedly, collectively thinking "oh, no!"
"THEY SUCK!"
Good times. Can't wait for next week.
The camerawork tonight is a bit, shall we say, lacking.
Brendon Nash threw an elbow into some kid's face. No call.
Shots in the period: 4-4. No joke.
On REDcast the Q unis are the color you get when you mix all your watercolors together.
Princeton pulling away again, 47-37 with 6:52 to go. I've seen too many promising seasons crater in Princeton and Philadelphia.

Luckily this season can't crater there this year. It's still early, everyone else but PU has a loss. Columbia leads at the Palestra. Just makes tomorrow all the more important. Win tomorrow, make it a two horse race. Take care of business in Ithaca.

Yeah, if there's any consolation, it's better to get this trip over at this point in the season; I still cringe thinking about the 85-86 season where we were 11-3 heading to the P's, and lost both (including a shellacking at the Palestra) to lose the title to Brown.
Unbelievable stop by Scrivens sliding to his left
3 on 1 break on scrivens who slides from his right to left to amazingly stone Q again!!::rock::
Scrivens made a nice save anticipating a pass. The problem is though, when we play a better team in the NCAA, they're not going to make a simple and predictable pass like that
61-41 final. Won't win much with numbers like these:
FG- 14-44 (31.7%)
3PT- 2-17 (11.2%)
FT- 11-14 (78.7%)
TO- 14
awful PP so far
Our 7th PP of the game. Can we please score?
Q is pressuring us all over the ice...on power plays, and that time with a three-man forecheck at even strength. Worked for Yale. Maybe everyone's catching on.
1/7 is not good; especially at home.
Given last weekend, I think we really need a W tonight.
LGR!
R. Nash in the box for 2 min.
Kill Red Kill

Agreed, although I haven't seen nearly the offensive firepower from the Q as with Yale.
Penalty killed.
Barlow and Greening almost got one, but Greening's shot high and net knocked off its moorings.
8th PP. Are we going to score this time?
Cornell's 8th PP attempt.
I say decline it.
Q doing a great job clearing the slot
Lots of good individual effort, but not much teamwork.
And I swear the Nash line has about 30 mins TOI.
We could use Mike Kennedy's skill tonight.
Is 9 a lucky number tonight?
LGR!!
Thank you Leitch! 9th PP!!! Will somebody please SCORE!
Thank you Leitch! 9th PP!!! Will somebody please SCORE!
Ok, I meant someone on our team.. Can someone on OUR team please score?
Nicholls hit the post.
1 min left in the 3rd
Good chances at the end of the 3rd. They should be so aggressive on the PP! 1-9 at home on the PP is not going to get you very far.
Just when I was thinking we were totally gassed, the Gallagher line has a phenomenal shift ... all for naught as we go to OT
Followed by a Gallagher point-blank shot. no goal.
Q getting the better of the play early in the ot.
10th PP CHANCE!!! IN OT!!!!
Looks like we get one more chance on the PP
PP attempt #10.
Well, we have had PLENTY of chances.
Time out Cornell.
Are 30 seconds enough to find our PP unit??
LGR!
TO. Time for the giant faceoff interference play.
10th time the charm!!!!!!!
EVAN BARLOW!!! YAYYYYy
2/10.... Barlow!!!!!
Victory!!!
Barlow!
VERY NICE EVAN BARLOW
Wow.
Let's hope there's enough in the tank for PU.
Barlow's biggest goal of his career.
Barlow was our best player all night - very deserving.
Barlow was our best player all night - very deserving.
Agreed. Busted his butt all night long.
Let's hope there's enough in the tank for PU.
The Tigers are in the same boat. They beat Colgate in overtime tonight.
The camera missed the goal again. I didn't get to see one Cornell goal tonight.
Scrivens had another great game. The team could use Michael Kennedy back as soon as possible. R. Nash, Greening and Barlow were on the ice a lot tonight to compensate for the lack of scoring threat with the second line and the second PP unit.
