Title: Kruegers Injury
Post by: upperdeck on January 26, 2009, 03:02:21 PM
Was he the one who staggered off the ice on the first shift after he got blindsided with a cheapshot?  I never quite got the number of the player.

We're getting really thin on D.  I wonder if any forward is decently capable of dropping back in an emergency.

Looks like Yes and Yes. From today's Ithaca Journal:
http://www.theithacajournal.com/article/20090126/SPORTS/901260323&referrer=FRONTPAGECAROUSEL

Quote"It never seemed like we could recover and get any kind of continuity back on the blue line (after Krueger's injury)," Schafer said, adding that the team was close to dressing a forward on defense Saturday if Davenport couldn't play. "We had a little bit of time to prepare for it today. It was a little bit better. And Taylor came back and had a strong game."
QuoteSchafer said Krueger "should be fine" to return to practice today.

The hit on Justin Krueger was by Chris Cahill #24 (Jr. 5-11 185).
