Colgate scores first over Yale at 2:42 of the second.
Goal review to check kick in by Yale. No goal.
Shorty for Colgate followed by Yale penalty at 12:+ of second. 2-0 toothpaste.
Yale left their game at Lynah, apparently.
Yale up 3-0 at 1:++ of the third. OOPS>::whistle:: Gate up.
people looked too much at what Yale did and not enough on what we were not doing. Almost every offensive play for yale came off some defelection and loose puck and very little off organized play. they were quicker to the puck and the 4x4's saved the game for them. no even strength goals showed they if you dont throw the puck away they wont create much.

That's quite a comeback after being down 2-0.

Musta had an extended 4 on 4. They're very quick and opportunistic, Rich.
4-0
Beautiful goal that Day snapped off after the faceoff left him alone to the goalie's left with the puck flat on the ice.
It's 4-0 GATE:-}
Now 4-1 !
Colgate must think they're playing us.
Now 4-3 Gate with 8:12 left.
Clearly RMU wasn't filled in about the upset-fest last night...they compensated tonight knocking off Quinnipiac 8-5!
Their score-gasm included 4 goals in a 1 minute 54 second-span at the beginning of the third.
Should we be rooting for Yale from here on out (save for the game in New Haven)? From one perspective, it might make the loss look less bad if Yale turns out to be a decent team. On the other hand, do we want them to be a TUC loss?
Yale might have lost to Colgate, but they are still a very good team. We were unable to beat them last year, and they may have made Albany last year if they didn't have to get past Princeton.
I also love the description of last night's win for Yale on the corporate organ:
QuoteThe Yale men's hockey team, an amazing 5-1 against ranked teams this season, registered one of its greatest wins ever by skating past No. 3 Cornell 4-3 before a packed Lynah Rink in ECAC Hockey action.

Edit: Okay. Yale hasn't lost yet.

Nope, in fact they just tied that game. 4-4 with 1:52 left and lots of Y pressure.
Tied 4-4 with 1:34 left at Gate.
Tied 4-4 with 1:34 left.
*Sigh*...if only Colgate played some boring, Cornell lockdown hockey ;)
Go Yale, then.
4 goals in the final 11 minutes. Going to OT
OT - announcer says 7 OT in last 11 games for Colgate.
Yale wins in OT.
What a choke-job. Up 4-0 with 11 minutes left, and Colgate can't even get a point out of it. Yale pulled the goalie to get the first one, and the floodgates opened after that.
Go Yale, then.
Why? 5-4 Eli in OT .
It will make our loss last night look marginally more respectable at the end of season.
Not ECAC but NDak & Denver tied 2-2.
Just watched the replay of Colgate-Yale. Yale completely dominated, except for poor goaltending. Interesting that on Yale's first goal the announcers never said anything about Yale having pulled their goalie for EA. Colgate is done for the season unless their injured defensemen get back. They are skating with 4 regular defensemen. No way can they last, especially since Colgate has played 10 OTs so far.
Harvard and D'mouth tie 5-5 in Sunday's ESPN U game.
Harvard and D'mouth tie 5-5 in Sunday's ESPN U game.
I saw parts of the game and it was quite entertaining. A lot of offensive skill on both sides, but very little defense was being played. Dartmouth dominated the 2nd period and had a 3-1 lead when two stupid penalties put Dartmouth down two men. Harvard scored on the two man advantage, and was right back in the game.

What an amazing weekend for those guys. On the road they drill the #3 team in the country and then an amazing rally against Colgate. Wow.
And by "wow" I obviously mean "fuck those guys."
