Title: Cornell @ Yale
Post by: JDeafv on January 24, 2003, 10:26:10 AM
How many folks out there have tickets to Cornell @ Yale.  The Yale ticket office says they sold-out about 4 weeks ago.

How many people who may have been planning to go don't have any tickets?

I'm looking for as many as possible (8 ::help:: ) if people have them.

I am trying to understand your first question:  Do you really want to know who has tickets to the game, or do you mean tickets that they are willing to sell?

And, the obvious question, did you try the CU ticket office?  That's how I got my tickets, but that was a couple of months ago now.

Lastly, I suggest you post your request for tickets on the ticket exchange (over there on the left).

Good Luck.

The first question of was really just "who has tickets?"  I'm curious who's got them out there and by what means they obtained them.

CU ticket office had just one left a few days ago.

I thought about the ticket exchange, but then figured if other people are looking for tickets it might help to know that they are sold-out.

If all else fails, you could always watch the game on TV :-)

I got mine from the Yale ticket office back in December, the same day they announced the game was going to be on TV.

Has any one else been frustrated by the Cornell ticket office?  I wanted to go up to for one of the BU games.  They had a few tickets available for sale the morning of the Sunday game but you couldn't get them with a credit card.  What's the deal with that?

I think that the credit card thing has to do with them buying them at face value and selling them at face value.

So using a credit card to pay for them would result in Cornell losing a bit on the transaction.  (2 - 4 per cent would go to Mastercard or VISA)

I've always charged my away ticket purchases from the ticket office. Of course, I usually buy in bulk :-D

I was trying to buy HOME game tickets (no arbitrage of buying and selling)  against BU, Sunday after Thanksgiving 2002.  But they would not let me buy it over the phone.  They said cash only at the ticket window.  Of course, there was no guarantee there would be any left when I got there and I wasn't going to drive for four hours without a secure ticket.

BU may have been a random deal, because the game was "SOLD-OUT" but the athletic dept. sold many more SRO tickets than normal knowing that students wouldn't show up to games over break.  Then SRO tickets are cash only at the door.

That makes much more sense.  Had they told me that over the phone I would understood.

Only to confuse things further, I had "general admission" tickets for the 7pm games (I purchased them a few weeks in advance).
