SLU 1 Brown 1, late 1st

Mike Devon lights it up. PPG
SCORE - Mike Devin on mixed pp from the point.
Matt, are you going to update scores and penalties in your first post?
sure, sorry away from computer for a few
barlow with the delayed penalty empty net save lol
1 04:40 Cor pp M. Devin 2 (R. Nash 7, Gallagher 8)
Yeah, Barlow. That was a great save on the empty net. Whew.
Barlow makes an unbelievable "save" after falling down on a Union delayed penalty!!!! Skates back and dives into the crease to pokecheck the puck away from the net!
Hopefully we keep the domination of puck posession up the whole game.
1 min left in pp 11min left in 1st still 1-0
barlow pp goal 2-0 at 10:29
BARLOW scores ppg after his "save" - Cornell 2-0!!!
..is unstoppable
Barlow now has a save and a goal.
apparently we gave up 7 goals to #1 Notre Dame
You can tell they practiced!!!2-0 C
apparently we gave up 7 goals to #1 Notre Dame
So that means we also beat them 2-1 then right?
1 09:31 Cor pp Barlow 2 (R. Nash 8, Greening 7)

apparently we gave up 7 goals to #1 Notre Dame
So that means we also beat them 2-1 then right?
No, that was against Norsk Dysmeliforenings Ungdom (Norwegian Dysmelia Youth Association).
CU penalty at 19:00 minutes Seminoff
2-0 end of 1st period
Oh man, they have a camera behind each goal. This rink is much more technologically advanced than Lynah...

We have to stop playing teams that hurt our SOS, they are never competitive in Scandinavia.
We have to stop playing teams that hurt our SOS, they are never competitive in Scandinavia.
Particularly when they are missing limbs.
Union penalty - 3 seconds left on Seminoff's penalty.
back shorthanded penalty m. kennedy
Penalty over - Now Union PP - Mike Kennedy
seminoff didn't score that shorthanded goal :(
Another Union PP - Devin trip.
Penalty. Mike Devon
Kill Red Kill
Another Union PP - Devin trip.
more like Union dive.
Union scores ppg on a deflection
Halfway
Terrible call against Cornell basically a dive - Union PP
Penalty CU Nichols boarding
another bad PP call against cornell. this ref is an idiot.
Union's crowd is getting into this.
PP over.
Cornell PP coming up.
Other scores:
Clarkson 4, Yale 3 (Final)
RPI 2, 'Gate 2 (3rd)
SLU 5, Brown 1 (3rd)
Q 3, Niagara 1 (3rd) NC
RPI Gate 2-2
SIMPSON DOVE AGAIN
Nonsense call, that's just good defense
CU gets another penalty - Hook - P. Kennedy
Truly nonsense.
5 (at least partial) Union pp's this period.
Time Warner announcers don't have a clue as to college hockey rules.
Anyway end of 2nd.
Scrivens definitely got away with one there.
Clarkson with the come from behind 4-3 win against Yale. Helpful.
There was nothing in that period except two bad calls and one VERY BAD call.
Scrivens definitely got away with one there.
Why do you say that?

Scrivens definitely got away with one there.
Why do you say that?
He very clearly intentionally knocked the net off of its moorings. It should have been a delay of game penalty. You don't get to do that just b/c you dropped your blocker and stick.
Oh man, they have a camera behind each goal. This rink is much more technologically advanced than Lynah...
but of course it's TW that's doing the game. You hope that TV stations do better than online.
also garbage comments from the pro-Union TW announcers

I took a quick look at rule book and can't find it.
once again, the referee blew the whistle while the puck was free in the crease.

I don't know the rulebook, but I doubt that its a rule that play stops if a goalie loses a glove. I've been wrong before though.
We really need to get back to puck posession and get in on the forecheck instead of packing ti in in the defensive zone here.
Yes! Colins!
Joe Devin!!!
CU 3-1 Sean Collins I think!!!
Somebody!!!
Replay shows Sean Collins -- PP coming up for Union.
Davenport doesn't agree with the crappy Union PP call.
But then again, I rarely agree with Davenport.
Announcers say Collins gets it.
Union gets a huge break. Goaltender interference NOT called!!
Penalty was Davenport for boarding
Razz-ler?
8:09 left.
Once again mention that we played notre dame this season. Apparently they can't figure out what the UND on the schedule stands for.
Notre Dame, North Dakota, Norsk Dysmeliforenings Ungdom - it just doesn't matter - we'll take the split!!! LGR
If teams like SLUts can score 6 goals. Why can't we score more than 3?
If teams like SLUts can score 6 goals. Why can't we score more than 3?
Because we don't try to. According to the Union announcer, SOG this period are 4-2 Union.
Dumb penalty
Bad penalty by Patrick Kennedy.
Another CU penalty - P. Kennedy
::idea:: We need to use some stick'em on those sticks
Killed
Even strength. 3:06 left.
Good goalie, no goalie
R. Nash, ENG!
Empty net. Riley Nash with the ENG!!!
ENG - R Nash Scrivens make great save just before
And there's the buzzer!
Very workman like for an away game - CU kept the game under control just about all the way. Still taking too many penalties. Now onto RPI!! LGR
Great defensive effort, especially considering all the PK time. Scrivens and Brendan Nash had superb efforts.
Would have liked to have seen a little more control in the offensive zone but we capitalized on the PP and scored the crucial goal in the 3rd period. Good contributions all around.
Nice save by Barlow in the first, the own goal would have been horrible!
Elsewhere, here's a shocker. Bentley beats Maine 3-1 in Orono.

If you're gonna pull an O'byrne, though, don't do it in Lynah.
Excellent game for Riley Nash. He looked great on the penalty kill and had two assists and a goal. Very poised on the empty netter.
WHCU Stars
1. Riley Nash
2. Evan Barlow
3. Sean Collins
Saves
Scrives: 28
Barlow: 1

Bentley's first win ever over a HEA school. And they were playing on one day's rest after losing at UConn wednesday.
