Already on it.
New Yorkers will be watching the Cornell @ Union game at Ship of Fools, on Second Avenue between 82nd and 83rd Streets. We will at the very least have the way-back room for the game. If you are planning to attend, please e-mail me at beeeejesq at gmail dot com so that I can get a general sense of the count - if we expect enough people, Glenn may give us the larger main back room.
See you there at 7pm next Friday!
Anyone know a good spot? I'll call and make reservations if necessary.
The Cornell Club of Washington is meeting at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern

I'm thinking of heading somewhere in lower Manhattan to try to watch the game since Ship of Fools is pretty far out of the way for me and the timing is tight at the end of a work day. Is there anyone else who doesn't want to go that far uptown and/or gets heartburn from the food at Ship of Fools every time and would be interested in meeting up someplace downtown next Friday?
Drop me a PM if you might be interested.
Boston locations, anyone?
We could meet at Cask & Flagon again, or somewhere a little closer to Cambridge. PM or email me (bcm32) to coordinate.

Something happened to Sports Depot since I left?
Sports Depot(Boston/Alston) is still there and I recommend it. Decent parking options and also walkable from the T. Just across the river from Cambridge.
DeltaOne--where are you these days?
Let's say Sports Depot at 7pm on Friday, then!
See you guys there.

The wife ('00) and I are in Cleveland on Friday night. Anyone else around who wants to get together somewhere? Even better - any suggestions?
Can someone tell whether the game will be on cable in Ithaca? If not, what is the usual Ithaca bar for Cornell hockey?

It's on TWCNY, their local sports channel 26 in Syr. and I believe same in Ithaca. See my thread Cornell on TV. (http://elf.elynah.com/read.php?1,133064)

I think, based on the thread title, that imafrshmn was asking about the Union game. While the RPI game on Saturday will be on Time Warner Channel 26 in Ithaca, the Union game on Friday is being carried on the NHL network, which is available in Ithaca for $1.95 per month, along with the rest of the "Sports Tier" provided you have digital cable.

Me dumb.::demented::
I believe I will be attending with my two daughters, though one of them doesn't know it yet.

Is Sports Depot a done deal? I'm working in RI and will head from work towards Boston as long as it looks like we've got some critical mass. If not, I'm in Natick and do get the NHL Network, so if anyone is in my neck of the woods, needing an option, I could host a handful of people. Sorry, no HD yet, however.

Does anybody know if it'll be in HD?
Yes NHL Network has a HD in Syr.804.
Yes NHL Network has a HD in Syr.804.
But will the game be broadcast in HD? The NHLN is simply picking up the local feed, which I can't imagine will be in HD.
Both Charter basic and Cox basic cable packages have NHLTV. Posted in the off chance that someone besides me within a 100 mile radius actually cares down here.

I got a 1 hour layover in Newark tonight...anyone think I'll be able to catch the end of the game there?

So yea, does anyone have any advice on this? I thought it would be on TW, but they plan on showing an AHL game instead...
I'll be enjoying the game at home thanks to Fios and the NHL Network:-D
Is there a verdict on the Sports Depot?

I don't know how you missed this part of this thread, but this explains tonight's game is on NHL Network.

Hmm...I guess I misinterpreted the initial question. I realized it was on the NHL network, but was looking for advice as to what sorts of establishments carry the NHL network and are likely to be showing the game.
I haven't been there lately, but in the past we've watched Cornell games with groups of people at Uncle Joe's, in downtown Ithaca, on Green Street. You may want to give them a call to make sure they get NHL network, and that they'll have the game on.
Well, this is probably a bit late, but I'm at the sports depot... Hope to see people here.
And no it's not in HD.
