Roeszler or Joe Devin!
Joe Devin, scoring machine...PPG!
Think the UMass guys said Devin from Roeszler and Devin at 5:13.
Woohoo! Riley Nash off the faceoff and it's 2-0!
5:44 from Greening and Barlow.
Riley Nash!! We're hot!
Riley Nash!5:44
Nash from Barlow and Greening. 'Atta way Red!
Arthur, are you going to keep the thread up with the score and stats?
Except for the jerkiness (which is kinda like saying how was the play otherwise, Mrs. Lincoln) the picture seems better than the picture was for the Estero tournament. The video seems clearer and brighter and is also showing less of a wide angle. Were it not for the extreme jerkiness / stuttering, I'd be very pleased with this video. The sound is also just fine.
It almost seems like --their-- connection to the internet might be limiting the frame rate or something.
Thoughts?
Cornell Penalty

WHCU sucks.

Back to even strength - 9 mins left in the first.
Thank you random "Let's Go UMass" graphic for interrupting the Umass scoring chance.

Thoughts?
I like the replays. I made an online complaint and they just called me back: "I'll try and fix it."
Bad giveaway right in front and Scrivens makes a huge save on a 2-on-0.
UMass going back on the powerplay.
Anybody want to complain about Coach's decision to go with Scrivens the last year and now. Wow.::rock::
They just wrote back to me, saying they had created a new work order.
You know, I usually save my criticism of announcers for Joe Morgan and Tim McCarver, and I usually find Jason serviceable enough. However, would it be too much to ask for the occasional description of a save/shot? Especially when there is a stoppage following said save. It's relatively infuriating to hear him go nuts about a save, and say nothing about its particulars. Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled game thread.

You mean "save by Scrivens" isn't descriptive enough for you?
Good short-handed chances by Collins and Riley but Dainton stops both.
Hey, they're better than listening to the Brown announcers bitch about the officiating for 60 minutes. Actually, they're pretty good.
Greening with a nice wraparound bid right after the UMass color guy says that Cornell is not interested in scoring again.
Announcers discussing the pronunciation of "Shillelagh", clearly unaware they're still audible during the intermission. Pretty funny ;)
End of 1.

Where's Sam Woodside when you really need him?
My video and audio just died, and I got the dreaded "This event has not begun" screen. Hopefully they're fixing the stutter issue?

Same happened here. Let's hope they're back--fixed or not--by the start of the second.
Annnd, it's back, and the video looks much smoother! Can't believe CSTV actually fixed something.
Annnd, it's back, and the video looks much smoother! Can't believe CSTV actually fixed something.
When you say "it's back" I'm hoping you have what I have, which is audio and the UMass Hockey logo, with flames moving in the background. While the flames look a lot less jerky than the video did before, it's hard to gauge anything based only on those flames.
Video (not the flames) was here for a minute, and looked good, but now I'm back to the flaming logo.
Looks like it's switching back and forth for me now from flames to fans. Probably normal. I may actually have to retract one curse I've screamed at all access over the past year.

Well now they're showing the arena dance contest, and it still looks smoother.
"Keri" Ross...cute ;)
Second period has started, and the video looks very good now. Too bad they couldn't have fixed it more quickly, but I'll take it,

Thoughts?
WHCU sucks.
Be nice.
Well, maybe you were being nice. IMHO, Jason's perfectly adequate. On the scale that runs from the Brown announcers to Grady Whittenberg, he's on the positive side.
Argh...if that freakin "Let's go Umass" graphic interrupts a goal, I'm going to strangle someone.
Second period has started, and the video looks very good now. Too bad they couldn't have fixed it more quickly, but I'll take it,
I just emailed them a thank you. Some of you might do the same.
Understatement of the season: "The Cornell defensemen are prone to turning the puck over."
Lovely shot of a UMass superfan knitting during play ;)
Already done. Amazed at how quickly a guy named Greg e-mailed back after my initial complaint. Maybe they've changed?
Dartmouth up 2-0 at Princeton in the third.
"Right now, Cornell looks like an extremely inferior team." - Fruuuuustrated ;)

I wasn't commenting on Jason. Rather, the podunk radio station that isn't quite audible in Ithaca.
1322 Riley Nash hfb
HFB on Riley Nash...someone shouldn't take advice from his brother ;)
Nicholls on the PK? Interesting.
Dartmouth up 4-0 at Princeton with a minute to go.
Nicholls on the PK? Interesting.
More likely just a miscall of Scali.
And we take another penalty just as the first expires.
1523 Evan Barlow argues his case to Noah Vale ... still penalized for interference
That's a final at Princeton. Cornell now alone in first place by winning percentage.
UMass scores on the powerplay...it was bound to happen seeing as we've worked ourself into our trademark shell.
UMass scores on the Powerplay.
Yup, also e-mailed them a "thank you."

That was me, who usually finds him decent enough, but do have that complaint about the lack of description.
How many great end-to-end rushes has Gallagher had this season without getting the finish?
Scrivens stuffs a UMass breakaway.
And we finally get a powerplay with 10 seconds left in the period. UMass broadcaster calls it "a chintzy chintzy makeup call", only to call it "the right call" 5 seconds later ;)
End of 2. Now 2-1 Red.
We were badly outplayed that period. Time to turn it back up.
End of 2 and we're very lucky to still have a lead. Scrivens must have a lifetime supply of bacon for all of it that he's saved this season.
Cornell powerplay to start the 3rd.
UMass kills the penalty. The powerplay looked good for what it's worth.
Barlow puts home a rebound! Barlow's first of the season...finally!
M. Kennedy off a scramble in front! Now this is how you finish!
Michael Kennedy! 4-1!
Going on the powerplay now...let's finish 'em off!
And a power play.
And a bogus goalie interefence call negates our powerplay. Even the homer UMass announcers think it should have been UMass's penalty.
UMass scores while Scrivens is screened just as their powerplay starts.
UMass scores on the bogus powerplay. Now 4-2.
UMass scores while Scrivens is screened just as their powerplay starts.
At least we get a make-up call. We're back on the power play now.
UMass back in the box.
Back to even strength...9 mins remaining.
Full strength. 9 mins left
Hooking on Barlow...UMass powerplay. Can we learn to not take penalties in the late stages of games?
Cornell in the box for hooking.
Hooking on Barlow...UMass powerplay. Can we learn to not take penalties in the late stages of games?
You're playing on the road in the home rink of a team from another league ... you're going to get penalized no matter what you do.
Killed.

True...but we don't make it difficult for the refs to make those calls.
Scrivens with another skate-to-the-blueline save...eesh! ::shifty::
2:35 left
Timeout UMass. 1:58 remaining.
UMass with a timeout, 2 mins left.
Goalie pulled for UMass.
Only 3 SOG for UMASS in the third period ... that's how we'd like to play.
Gallagher ENG!
ENG. Gallagher!
And there's the horn. Big win.
And that's a wrap! It would be nice if we didn't pick a period during which we take a nap each game.
It would be nice if we didn't pick a period during which we take a nap each game.
Ain't that the truth.
Cornell now in first place in the Pairwise Rankings:
http://www.collegehockeynews.com/ratings/ncaapwcr.php
Given how we were dominated on our own ice by UMASS last year (we only got the scoreless tie because Scrivens stood on his head), tonight's win provides more evidence that this team is really coming along.
UMass scores on the powerplay...it was bound to happen seeing as we've worked ourself into our trademark shell.
I rather liked the third-period "shell" where Cornell sat on a one-goal lead by outshooting the other guy 12-4...for a change.
