Too bad they don't allow visiting pep bands anymore. They're just scared.

They didn't when we went in '02 either. It's a stupid Big East rule. They only let us in because Donahue got on the phone to SU.

I love the 1,400-mile stretch on I-80. I hope there are some rest stops...
But then I don't suppose you get Time Warner NY either.
Game is available via online video too.
Cornell out to a nice 13-9 lead. They appear to be playing pretty smartly, lots of good cuts and head fakes. The only really problem so far has been Adam Wire giving up the ball on an awful pass.
LET'S GO RED!!!!!!!!!
25-9 Carnelian and White in the lead.

"Syracuse (8-0) came back from a 16-point deficit to continue its eight-game winning streak with a 88-78 victory against Cornell."
*grumble*

Isn't that the story every year when Cornell goes up there? Run out to a decent lead early. Orange wake up late 1st or early second. Take back the lead. Win going away.

Well, I was really happy. No one going in thought this would be the outcome. Yes they won with a reasonable margin, but CU was in it up to the last 5 minutes. It was close enough that Syracuse was trying to run the clock down in the last few minutes. Imagine that, if they could have they would have played the 4 corner and run out the clock. Never would you predict that.
So we got to enjoy the game for the whole 40 minutes. It's also fun to hear the complaints from the SU fans, both about their team, who are 8-0, and the officials. They were sitting on their hands and voices until told by the scoreboard that they needed to make some noise, or until SU got close to us and went ahead. Then they finally regained their enthusiasm and cheered.
This was a great game for us. Whittman was on fire early on; at least partially due to great screens and SU's inability to find him. SU got their D back toward the end of the half, and that change made the difference. SU played man to man throughout the entire game, that is unheard of from a Boeheim team. He undoubtedly wasn't expecting that much practice tonight.
All in all, this was probably a good game for both teams. We showed ourselves and the Ivies that we can play with a top 20 team. That has to help our psyche. The close game gives coach Boeheim plenty to motivate his practices as they go into a 10 day end of semester break. Probably better than a blowout like they had against Colgate.
So CU fans and team, you've made a believer out of me, and if I can work it into the hockey schedule, I just might try and catch a home game.

(Live online video via ESPN360 for those who have access to it, by the way.) Like Syracuse, they'll be 7-0 coming into the game.

Boeheim is SU's coach and SU has ten days off.
