Harvard....

Classical music on the WHRB link. Not optimistic that I'll hear hockey at the top of the hour, but here's hoping.
Anyone successful at getting the Harvard audio? The WHRB websites don't seem to work for me, but it might be due to a firewall.
Pre-game is running on WHRB for me.
Nice octopus.
The lobster is an interesting touch...
someone let me know when hahvahd hits the ice so i can chuck a flounder
"This could really be a traumatic atmosphere for a goaltender."
WHRB has some pretty sanguine announcers...
"^%(! Redcast took my money and now wont recognize my password!!! the reset option is not sending me a new one, either.
Once again I would like to ask the Redcast cameraguy to just zoom out and let us watch the play develop instead of jerking the camera all around.
did i miss the fish toss?
No worries, i'll just chuck this after a penalty call...
Great puck contr and effort to keep Harvard in their zone so far. Like a completely different team than the one that "played" the first two periods vs. Colgate last Saturday.
Lovely...Scrivens goes out to play the puck, loses it, and Harvard scores on a wraparound.
Is that supposed to be how he advertises himself for Hobey candidacy? ;)
Oops...
Scrivens mental mistake leads to a Harvard goal...
Nothing like giving Harvard a goal.
Riley Nash! Finally!
And turnover leads to a Cornell goal!
Riley!
Cornell goal....Harvard announcers might decide to announce who.
Apparently "Jollison" got an assist... ::demented::
Harvard goes on the powerplay. Krueger in the box.
Coskren takes a penalty and we go to 4x4 for a bit, before a brief Cornell pp.
But Harvard gives it back. Coskren off for slashing.
I had salmon pizza for lunch. :-D
McCollem off for intereference. Cornell pp for the last 90 seconds of the 1st.
Sorry, but thinking about that vis-a-vis this hockey game...no good images.
Good first period, and some great chances on the abbreviated powerplay at the end. Hitting the crossbar is certainly better than missing the net entirely as we did many times last weekend.
Hopefully the pp will finally convert at the start of the 1st.
Very good period. Best I've seen Cornell play against Harvard in quite a while.
The lobster is an interesting touch...
Especially since it seemed to be cooked. ::screwy::
Ross off for interference. Harvard goes on the man-advantage.
Harvard powerplay looks pretty dangerous.
Barlow and Greening playing their hearts out tonight.
Penalty on Harvard, 9:23 left in 2nd. Waiting for the call from Harvard announcers...
...Slashing on Fraser
Cornell going on the powerplay now.
Potential CU goal...the referees are calling the goal judge over. That's interesting.
How can that goal not count?
No goal or maybe not...
I actually thought it looked like it hit the post and went straight across the goal line without going in. I actually like the fact that they are consulting the goal judge, thats what they are supposed to be there for.
I have to say, it looked like it hit the bar and then shot down directly to the line. Not sure it went over the line.
I agree with the color guy...can't we get the goal judge a walkie-talkie instead of making the poor guy hike across the rink?
I think they made the right call. The ref was also in about perfect position directly behind the goal and waved it off right away. The video still looks like the puck went straight along the goal line.
Now we go back on the powerplay. Let's get it all the way across the goal line this time.
It's tough to tell on the reply whether it came down on its edge over the line entirely or not. Nice to see the officials confer with the goal judge to make sure they saw the same thing even though the light came on.
Reminds me of the game at lynah two seasons ago when Cornell got a third period goal call on a puck that never crossed the line.
Another slashing call against Harvard. Starrett this time.
But then we give it right back. Ugh! Hooking on Brendon Nash.
Ugh...another bad giveaway by Nash in his own zone and this time he takes a penalty to put the icing on the cake. 4x4 now.
Can't clear our zone on a power play. What's up with that?
Wow. Harvard really can't stay out of the box and it's not just tight officiating.
Score!!! Riley Nash.
Although, it was on the 2nd Starrett penalty of the period
Nash again!! PPG
Riley x2!
Uh-oh...Teddy-boy's getting steamed.
Sucks getting sloppy now. Good ;)
Great end to this period. We're blitzing Hoyle and the Harvard defense seems to be content to just stare.
LiveStats had the shots in that period as 15-4.
When did we last have a period like that against these guys?
So does Arthur it sounds like.
Nice score to come home to. Let's Go RED!

Trotsky...wasn't Riley's 2nd a PPG?

Trotsky...wasn't Riley's 2nd a PPG?
Yes. I are suck.
Wow...the entire crowd is actually clapping at the same time for Gary Glitter tonight, as opposed to the "special" version that happened during the Colgate.
Fraser going off. Red on the PP.
So much for that. Roeszler goes off for a hold and we yet again see 4x4.
Really bad penalty
Somebody should inform the CU radio team that all draws following penalties are being brought into the offending team's end this year regardless of the touch up location. They've misstated the face off location at least twice tonight.
Punches sure forechecks HARD.
Greening came very close to putting home his own rebound on that breakaway.
All 3 guys on the first line amazing tonight.
Mrs. Killer just got home and is trying to explain what she picked up for us from the Thai restaurant. Somehow, dinner isn't foremost on my radar screen at this moment. :-)
Harvard timeout.
We've been remarkably disciplined tonight on the penalty front, except for some inopportune ones taken in our own zone or on the pp. It also doesn't hurt that the refs have let our guys get away with a few tonight.
Time out Harvard with about (just under?) 5 minutes left.
LGR!
LGR
Great, way to throw a fish with a minute left...idiot.
1:38 left, face-off in Cornell's zone
And we are officially off the 2-year schneid!
And we are officially off the 2-year schneid!
::banana::
Nice win... Very nice. :).
Coulda been another shutout.
Coulda been another shutout.
True. (Cue Elton John) But Benny left the net. (/Elton John).
Cornell dominated a very young Harvard game. Overall a great game. Greening looked absolutely amazing.
Yes, that one partial breakaway with Greening... he just has another gear. Wow.
Another big game against Dartmouth tomorrow night. Let's hope that 'Gate tired them out.
Another big game against Dartmouth tomorrow night. Let's hope that 'Gate tired them out.
No Harvard hangover hopefully.
Coulda been another shutout.
Please explain.
Also, please please please (and this isn't directed specifically at you, Al) let's not see every win where we don't get a shutout as a glass-half-empty. We beat Harvard. I don't care if the score was 2-1, 2-0 or 21-20.

Coulda been another shutout.
Please explain.
Scrivens, as is his wont, left the net to play the puck, misplayed it, and a Harvard guy put it in the net.
No glass half-empty, ug. Just the facts. Next time join the game at the start.
Big shot advantage for the Big Red, 37-15, including 12-3 in the 3rd. Critical win against a team that was starting to have our number way too much for our liking. If the offense starts to heat up, we could have something here.
Will be interesting to see how they come out of the gate tomorrow. Given Dartmouth's early season success, no reason there should be a letdown.

Especially considering that last year's sweep of DC is more the exception than the rule in recent years. They usually come to play tough against Cornell.
