Big game tonight! Anyone know a way to listen online? Couldn't find a feed on either school's website. WPIE 1160AM in Ithaca doesn't have an online feed. Maybe WBBR 1130AM out of NYC will be streaming?
St. Johns is on 1130 AM Bloomberg Radio. Here's a link to the bloomberg website on the left side there's a bloomberg radio link and you can launch a radio player. Right now there is a bloomberg radio program on, not sure if it will air the game online, but it might.

Strange. The pregame piece on cornellbigred.com says: "Barry Leonard will provide the call on 1160 ESPN Radio, while live audio of the game will be available on the RedCast subscription service."
BC routed Loyola, 90-57.
ESPN shows St. John's up 27-17 mid-first half.
I've got 33-31 St Johns with 3:46 to play in the half on ESPN Realtime
Is anybody in the NYC area, listening on 1130, and willing to do score updates? I am unimpressed by the frequency of ESPN.com's updates...
I live in New York, but of course this game would occur the one week I'm out of town.
39-38 Cornell with under a minute to go in the half
Found WBBR 1130 AM in New York on the internet and they're doing "Night Talk Live."
39-38 Big Red according to someone on another board... ESPN.com still showing 33-31 Johnnies.
EDIT: Beat me to it ansky!
42-41 SJU, 12 seconds to go.
That's the score at the half.
Cornell is having trouble defending St. John's - they seem to get the shot they want every time.
Geoff Reeves' shooting is keeping them in the game. Wittman has 15(?), but on 5-13 from the field. If he finds his stroke along with Reeves, Cornell can take this one.
Louis Dale isn't playing; if he were I think Cornell would be having a much easier time on both ends.
Tuning in for the 2nd half. Would have listened to the whole thing if I knew we'd be treated to the Mink man!
14:59 left in the game; St. John's 56 Cornell 50
Just tuned in to a fuzzy NY AM radio station.
56-50 Johnnies. Cornell has drawn 4 fouls already though, so we could get into the bonus rather early here in the 2nd half if we're smart about it.
Cornell now in the bonus. Down 6 with about 13 minutes to play.
63-53 STJ. Timeout Cornell
This one's slowly headed the wrong way...11 points deficit. 11 minutes to play.
73-62 SJU, Cornell on 4-0 run, SJU takes a TO.
6:43 left. 11 point game. I think 73-62, I forgot the score though while typing this.
76-70. Foote tearing in up in the last few minutes. Probably 4:something left.
I have 77-70, just under 4 to go
80-73, 2:30
1:38 to play 80-75 Johnnies STJ ball
Wittman steal. Cornell TO. About a minute left
Wittman had it stolen. Easy 2 for STJ. Battle misses jumper. STJ rebound. Reeves fouls. 82-75 STJ shooting 2. Almost over...
28 seconds left. 84-75. St. John's ball after a Reeves charge.
Tough to play with the starting backcourt out, I suppose.
86-75 St. John's F
Still couldn't guard them in the second half - and they figured out how to guard the perimeter. Cornell was 5-10 from 3 in the first half, 1-7 in the second.
A great game from Jeff Foote, though, scoring 20 on (IIRC) 8-13 from the field. Wittman was the leading scorer but he never really found his stroke.

Minko is an awful play-by-play guy, IMHO

I didn't think he was bad. And I was impressed with Tariq Turner. He described defensive sets and talked about individual skills without devolving into florid and useless adjectives.
I think both suffered from not really having seen Cornell much but they shifted from the game notes to what was happening in the game as it progressed.

Not the best, not the worst.
His style actually reminds me a lot of Barry Leonard.

I heard a little of the St. John's-B.C. game tonight. Minko is better doing hoops than football. I listen to the Army games, and it makes me nuts when he he'll say, "so and so for a short gain" -- but never tells you exactly how many yards "short" is! Just brutal stuff.
if you listen to the fan, you have to love minko

I am a FAN regular, and I still don't love Minko (nothing personal, of course). I just don't think he's particularly skilled at what he does (he even frequently stumbles giving updates). Mike and Chris would always "joke" with Minko, but my impression was they were laughing at him, not with him.
