So if Dartmouth knocks off Clarkson tonight, do we start to really wonder whats going on up in New Hampshire?

It wouldn't be a Cornell pre-game without a stupid question from me ;-).

I have the audio for the pregame (and it is pretty clear!), and video, but the video is very blurry, not in focus, and I guess is pixelating horizontally. ::help::

I hope it gets better by the opening face-off.

LGR!

Colgate audio working, albeit at relatively low volume.

Video looks fine for me, must be something on your end Rita.

Teamline said they'll try to turn up the gain on their end, within 5-10 minutes.

Mugford out with the ankle injury (not the knee, thankfully).  Collins also out hurt.  Brendan Nash is back.  Jordan Kary gets his first shot in a game that counts.

Pregame interview with Coach Vaughan: "You don't want to get behind in this building, especially against this team."

Which other team does he expect to be playing in Lynah?

Colgate play-by-play guy: "Ben Scrivens's streak ended at about 206 minutes, a new Cornell record - breaking a record of nearly thirty years, in fact."  ::rolleyes::

"I was told there would be no math!"

Moment of silence for what?  Jason was talking over Arthur, and Jason is unintelligible with the current audio setup.

Finally, a few good chances on the PP.

We knew Colgate wasn't going to come out flat again.  Probably lucky to be down only 1-0.

He made that penalty shot look so easy and we haven't made one in 20+ years.

We look half-dead so far.

Now 2-0 after Day's beautiful SH penalty shot (so that's how you do it!)

Weak power play.  Can't handle any kind of pressure at the points.

Some good individual efforts but not much teamwork.

Nash and Greening have a combined ZERO shots on goal.

Too often (Nash and Jillson, in particular) trying to stickhandle through two or three guys.

About as unispired a period as you can have. Colgate is winning virtually every puck battle.  Agreed with the prior comments that there's too much stickhandling at the blueline.
Title: Re: Cornell 0 Colgate 2 (end 2nd) - replays

How nice for our $64.95 a year - game highlight replays between the periods. When was this technology invented?
Title: Re: Cornell 0 Colgate 2 (end 2nd) - time to come back
Post by: billhoward on November 15, 2008, 08:39:48 PM
Based on our prowess to date in 2008-09 -- 5 goals in 3 games + 2 periods + 5 mins OT -- we need about 90 minutes to force overtime. (Probably more if we go on power play.) LGR.
Title: Re: Cornell 0 Colgate 2 (3rd) webcast audio
Post by: billhoward on November 15, 2008, 08:42:50 PM
How is it that the announcers' voices seem muffled, but when the crowd declares of Colgate, "You suck!" that comes through 5x5?
Title: Re: Cornell 0 Colgate 2 (3rd) Cornell 5x3
Post by: billhoward on November 15, 2008, 08:46:05 PM
Got to score. Please.
Title: Re: Cornell 0 Colgate 2 (3rd) Cornell 5x3
Post by: billhoward on November 15, 2008, 08:54:06 PM
Futility! Cornell gets a 5x3, then a second 5x3 during the original penalty ... and still can't score.

Announcers say Riley Nash not having one of his stronger games. ... but sometime he's due to break out.

Do you listen harder for bad cliches when things aren't going well?

That play not only looked awesome, it was awesome.  That is the kind of offensive creativity around the net I've been looking for from Cornell for years now.

Scali run into the boards from behind, Colgage draws a major penalty. Appears to be okay (Scali). So this is probably good for Cornell. Let's hope Cornell PP can come unstuck.

How the hell did Michael Kennedy do that? ;-)

I've had someone else's stick get stuck through the hole in my blade holder, and that is scary when you think of the leverage they have on your ankle... but it's not clear how he did that with his own stick.

I think someone hit it and when it flew out of his hands it bounced up and got stuck in there. Pretty crazy bounce though, and probably a bit scary when you are tripping over your own stick stuck in your skates.

Didn't look like Cornell would get a point out of this one.  First two periods were just dreadful, however.
