PP cornell a couple of minutes in.
Greening scores 1:48 in the the game and a few secs into the PP.
BERK! PP is clicking tonight!
PP Goal Jordan Berk!!! CU 2-0
2 power play goals in the first period? Is this the same team that played last weekend?
2 power play goals in the first period? Is this the same team that played last weekend?
Or the same team that managed three shots on goal in the first period against Princeton?
and several other good chances from in close..
Is Sean Whitney hurt?
Cornell Penalty - Berk Go PK
CU Penalty Mugford High Stick 5-3 for 33 seconds
where can you get video? Is it available for free online?
Time Warner Sports Channel 26 on Ithaca Cable
CU kills off the 5 on 3.
Great 1st period for Cornell. Will start the 2nd on PK for 36 seconds.
you can buy it from colgate, $6 for the 24 hour pass and I don't believe it automatically renews but I would cancel after the game just in case...
Colgate will start the second period with :36 on pp. Great job by Cornell surviving the 5x3 at the end of the first.
IINM, Scrivens now has the longest scoreless streak in Cornell history.
Is Sean Whitney hurt?
Healthy scratch I believe.
Brendon Nash out with an illness. Taylor Davenport steps in for him tonite. Berk scores 2nd goal on PP play in his spot. I think Riley Nash and Greening got assists on that goal.

Still 4:03 to go, but this is as close as anyone's gotten in the almost 39 years since Cropper set the mark in December, 1969.
Mugford was really reckless with that high-stick...he's gotta watch it. Although I suppose someone's gotta fill in for B. Nash in taking unnecessary penalties tonight ;)

Another Colgate PP
Anyone having weird sound through redcast audio?
Anyone having weird sound through redcast audio?
Yes. Stuttering.
Really bigtime save by Ben Scrivens!! Colgate takes a Penalty 1:06 of 4x4
Jason now says Scrivens has the team record.

Back to full strength. Cropper's record was all during the 69-70 season. Two full shutouts plus.

Scrivens does own the record!!! Crappy call on Seminoff. Colgate PP.
on the scrivens penalty.. why is the colg guy allowed in the crease at all?
Scrivens just clotheslined Bogdanich who was trying to screen him. Scrivens gets 2 for holding and Bogdanich 2 for goaltender interference.

And echos, like the broadcast is being originated from a tin can. The commericials, however, come in crystal clear (you would think that they could get a new Mt. Dew commericial...). :-|
Mugford from Barlow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CU 3-0

Well, Jason pretty much said that they were having audio difficulties and therefore took a long commercial break during the 2nd period so they could fix it. It isn't redcast, it an issue with the radio broadcast.
Tyler Mugford, scoring machine.
Evan Barlow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CU 3-0
It was Mugford...the team leader in goals now. Who woulda thought?!
Mugford on the third goal. Who is the goal-scorer who has inhabited Tyler Mugford's body this season?
Tyler Mugford, scoring machine.
Quite a nifty move too... right in front of the crease, going forehand-to-backhand and then upstairs over Long.
Yet another Colgate PP
have we taken a decent penalty this year? really bad play and unneeded ones tonight.

It is better now, just static ;-).
Another successful PK. LGR!
It is better now, just static ;-).
Mine's fine. Stop/start either helped or it was a coincidence.

Yeah...I remember one vs. Qunnipiac where one of our D had to trip someone to prevent a breakaway shot.
What is the NCAA record?
just a lot of lazt play on the D end.. weak clearing passes and simple mistakes. better D more puck control, more scoring chances..
Mugford down - looked pretty bad on replay
Mugford goes to the locker room with a nasty leg injury...his lower leg bent backwards as he fell. :(
Classy 'Gate kids chanting "bullshit" while he was down and again as he was helped off the ice by two players.
What is the NCAA record?
It's either Ryan Miller or the Lake State goalie, and it's completely insane.
Dekanich set the ECAC streak at 198 minutes, 44 seconds.
Crap... Mugford hurt... did not look good.

Thats 6+ 60 minutes games. Was it during the CCHA tourney and does it include a (very) long OT game?
Oh my, a penalty on Colgate.
Actually, they were chanting "pussy" at him as he was laying on the ice and when he was being helped off the ice.
Also, there are pleantyyyyyyyyyy of empty seats for this "sold out" crowd.
I love beating up on these bums.
4 v. 3, due to a Krueger penalty.
now 4 v.4 with 13 sec left in the 2nd.

My post should have said March 20, not March 2. It did include the CCHA tournament, but I'm not sure of the details other than that it included 5 actual shutouts.
During Ben Scrivens record setting shutout span, things were getting a little boring and so....
Scrivens vs. Bogdanich (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t-kWLMmuRA)
Jason: 22 saves for Scrivens in that period (?!) -- the math doesn't work out, though; if he has 29 that's 19 in the 2nd. But, still.

ECAC
Dekanich: 217:16
Scrivens: 205:4something +
Koenig: 199:44
Laing: 198:30
Cropper: 189:48
BC's Schnieder had 242:19. The record for a regular season shutout streak is BC's Clemmensen 254:23
almost looked like CU shovedit on past scrivens
Not the dreaded two goal lead.
Its all my fault. I got back from a prelim and put the game on with 19:30 to go and we all know what happened next. Well Ben's 215 minutes from the ECAC record now.
The powerplay's looking pretty crappy in two consecutive tries now. Seems like we've fallen into the usual hold-the-fort strategy. One more goal...please?
Aww...if Feola was feeling generous, that might have been a penalty shot for P. Kennedy.
EDIT: Well his brother gave us a goal that we likely wouldn't have had on a penalty shot anyway.
Well, at least we avoided another penalty shot chance and will take the standard 2 minute PP.
M. Kennedy PPG!
Uhh... Pat Kennedy should have gotten a penalty shot there.
And M. Kennedy capitalizes!!
Safety sieve in for Colgate.
Edit: Or not...Long still in there and our lack of shots not really helping his save percentage ;)

Another PP for Colgate
PK still perfect!!
::banana::
A very nice start to this season **]. Wow!
LGR!
Very solid effort for Cornell. Three powerplay goals. Perfect PK. Lots of Colgate shots, but only a few really good chances. Hopefully Mugford will be OK. See you all Saturday.
QuotePK still perfect!!
Our tendency to take penalties on the other hand...
any updates on mugford's injury?
who took him down?
Never mind, it was covered above
Mugford came into the stands in the third period on crutches before hobbling to the top row on his hands and one good leg. We originally suspected knee injury, but it looks more like ankle now. I'm sure he'll get it x-rayed in the morning before we know more.
