QuoteThe Cornell men's hockey team's games at Yale and Brown have been flipped to accommodate an ECAC Hockey request for television, the league office announced on Friday.
Cornell, originally scheduled to play at Brown on Fri., Feb. 27 and at Yale on Sat., Feb. 28, will now instead face Yale on Friday before playing at Brown the following evening. The change has been made to allow for Yale and Colgate to play in nationally televised game on ESPNU on Sun., March 1, in New Haven, Conn.
Why couldn't they simply move the Colgate-Yale game from Friday to Sunday while leaving the other three games alone? Maybe the Sunday game is early afternoon and they want to allow travel/recovery time?
Also means the whole league will likely have to wait an extra day for the playoff pairings to be determined.
Further, if CU/Brown is as scrappy as ever any DQs carry over to the postseason.
