Cute and pointed.

So when is the meeting (without preconditions) going to be held?

The only thing I can disagree with is McCain calling Cornell "the heartland of America". For many of us our hearts may be there, but..?

Overall I agree that the students get the shaft, and it doesn't help enthusiasm.

Ithaca is closer to the heartland than Wasilla is.

amerks, before the thread drifts too far- I absolutely loved your column. Perfect, to the point, authentic... just awesome.

If you need any students who are veterans of the line processes of the last few years, I'd be more than happy to back you up.

Mitch,

That was one of the smartest ideas for a Sun column I've read in years.

Nice article Mitch.

However, I am a bit disappointed that you didn't include the  "Mavericks" (http://www.msumavericks.com/storyindex.php?sid=10). ::drunk::.

I'm not sure these  prices (http://www.msumavericks.com/gameday/tickets.html) include student tickets or if they are the cost for the general public. If the former, then YIKES! ::wow::.

I could not find any specific information about student tickets on MSU's website.

For Mankato, they give out 1100 free student tickets each game.  Students then have to buy regular priced tickets.  I have info on about 95% of ticket prices in D-1.

Which D-1 school has higher student ticket prices?

Minnesota charges $154 for a half student season ticket.

Surprisingly, they recently switched to general admission seating because they felt students weren't coming to games on time and then kicking other fans out of their seats.  Apparently it has worked well so far.

And think of all the great teams you get to see MSU-M play.
