This may be common knowledge by now, but I haven't seen it posted here... Coach Schafer is slated to be on ESPN Radio's The Sporting Life with Jeremy Schaap this Saturday morning. More details at http://cornellbigred.ocsn.com/sports/m-hockey/spec-rel/011303aaa.html .
I'm not familiar with The Sporting Life and don't know how often Schaap brings up college hockey, but with him being a former Cornellian, I suppose it was only a matter of time...
I didn't know that Jeremy was a Cornellian. I thought only his (late) dad Dick was. What year did Jeremy graduate? Does anyone know?
Also, thanks for the info Bill, this is very cool news.
Yeek, forgive me for trying to pretty up that link before.
The article says Jeremy was a '91 grad. Now that you mention it, though, I thought he went to Yale.
Jeremy had Maine coach Tim Whitehead on the air last week. I'm not sure if they talked about Maine's win over Cornell in Estero, but they covered a bunch of stuff about the Maine program and the Kariya family.
In Ithaca, ESPN Radio is 1160 AM
In the Capitol District, the Albany station is 1300 AM and the Glens Falls station is 1230 AM
The CU release indicates that Coach will be the first guest when would be about 9:07.
I thought I saw Jeremy's name on the Sun masthead for several years.
To find ESPN affiliate in your area by ZIP code go to: http://espnradio.espn.go.com/espnradio/affiliate
On Cape Cod, it's 95.1 FM--the same station that carries G. Gordon Liddy.::rolleyes::
FYI in case you can't be at the radio or internet at 9...
ESPN radio archives all of their broadcasts, until the next new version of a certain show is run. So I suspect that the Sporting Life, and Coach's interview, will be available at espnradio.com for an entire week for playback.
He had a weekly (?) column called "Schaap Shots".
That's awful. The pun in the title, I mean. Just awful.
Right. Obviously so much worse than "Bullets over Bradway."
Almost all college paper column titles are puns on the writer's name. It makes me wonder why they think I should expect any writing worth reading in the column itself.
I'm sure most of you noticed this, but just because your local station carries ESPN Radio, they don't neccesary broadcast Schaap's show. For example, I'm in D.C., and the closest station that carries The Sporting Life is out of Martinsburg, WV.
Live no less!! :-)
reminder!
on now.
Email me and I will email you a link to a copy of the interview. Delete .notspam from my listed email address.
Crap, would someone record this for me if possible? Thanks!!!! ::help:: ::help:: ::help::

Click on the listen to the show link at the top of the page. Coach comes on around the 2:30 mark.
Shouldn't we have known all along that a Harvard point guard would be the world's foremost authority on prostitution in Thailand? ::nut::
