Better late than never...Cornell slips into the #20 spot in this week's national rankings:

The polls don't matter.  Winning out in Albany matters.

Gee really?  I could have sworn we were guaranteed an at-large bid ;)

Lighten up a bit...are we now only allowed to post on the subject of winning out in Albany?  ::twak::

You could stand to lighten up a bit yourself.  I think you invited commentary by saying "better late than never," implying that it mattered; as soon as I saw your post, I expected more or less the reaction you got from Will.

It's nice to get a little recognition, but most people on this board would agree that the team hasn't deserved it this season.  What Will said is true, if blunt - after the season's over, nobody's going to much care whether we got votes in the weekly polls.  They're going to care if we won the conference tournament, and how we did in the NCAA tournament afterwards.

My "better late than never" was meant to be mostly sarcastic, not to imply that the poll actually mattered.  I agree that it means nothing at this point, and I'm not exactly jumping for joy with excitement now that we're "officially ranked".  I just noticed it and posted it; although knowing some of the people on here, I probably should have either prefaced in another way, or not commented.

My comment still stands that you both should still lighten up a little though.  We all know what's at stake, but we're not the ones lacing up the skates on Friday.

Personally I hope they continue to rise in the polls.

I agree.  People are being just a bit oversensitive here.

Let's just enjoy the coming weekend, win or lose, because for most of us, nobody really expected we'd get there this year.

USA Today steadfastly refuses (http://www.tbrw.info/weeklyUpdates/2008_poll_history.html) to give Cornell any love.

Maybe it's because our nation's economy seems to be teetering on the brink of collapse ::dribble::
