Still just posting a direct link here for now. These are highlights from the first game at Union. Special thanks to MHA for letting me borrow his HD camcorder. It could use a couple sandbags to help with stability, but the quality sure is nice.

Unfortunately, there won't be video from the second game as I apparently left the camera on or something, only to discover a dead battery when I got to the game Saturday. Such are the dangers of using someone else's gear, I guess.

Very nice video. Even though I'm used to seeing HD video these days, the quality is just amazing. It made the marginal lighting at Union seem better than reality. That camera did a great job. Nice job of editing some of the better rushes and plays on both sides. Just like still photography, the challenge is maintaining your cool while shooting, especially in the midst of the Lynah Faithful!!

There is a highlight video of Game 2 from News 9 (and the camera guy on the concourse that several of our fans had issues with in blocking the view of the ice). Included are Gallagher's goal in the 2nd and Barlow's game winner. Much of the yakking is about Union, though.

Heh. I tried to do my part to thwart this guy (the cameraman), but didn't get very far. I had no idea he was right behind me until I heard MHA calling for an usher, pointing out that he was blocking their view, and that he was not in the press box. When the usher basically blew Mark off, I started blocking the camera's lens. The rest of the exchange went something like this:
Cameraman: "What the --hell-- are you doing?"
Me: "If you're going to block their view, then I'm going to block yours."
Cameraman: "Security!"
The same usher came over and basically told me to stop, or he'd throw me out. Not wanting to be thrown out of the game I basically gave up at that point.
The cameraman seemed genuinely shocked that someone would try to impede him from doing his job. I guess he just doesn't "get" The Faithful.
