Jason on the pre-game: whenever Cornell has had the chance for the knockout punch this year, they've usually come up short. Another chance tonight.
anyone else buy the b2 network video, and getting no sound??
starting line up on B2 now. . . .no audio though
lameeeee
got sound. yay
just got audio on B2.
wow, looked like an amazing chance for cornell
also, the b2 network is only w/ the union announcers right? i clicked on visitor and this is what it gave me
Cornell with 5 quality SOG in the first 2 minutes. Great start.
rofl... "was able to hungry hungry hippo the puck"
also, the b2 network is only w/ the union announcers right? i clicked on visitor and this is what it gave me
Correct, but they're great.
fontas is hurt during a delayed penalty against cornell.
PK coming up for cornell
union 1-0 scored on PP
Barlow should have scored on that shorthanded chance...
Cornell PP upcoming.
LGR!
cornell PP
6:30 remaining int he first, Union PP starting..
Cornell PP..LGR.
B2 fail... fail... fail...
anbody else's b2 just stop for "changing media"?
yea, i had to request a new link and now its back up again (kinda)
Nevermind, just froze.
thats why we pay the big bucks.. internet tv the wave of the future.
lol..if you request a new feed it looks like it works (w/ some stuttering), but its actually a few minutes old (I requested it twice, both times gave me the same video, and then froze at the same spot)
Now we get the awesome video and music of "your broadcast will start shortly" sweet!
and now its back...is the pp over?
looks the PP is letting us down this weekend.. could have put the game away last night and nothing tonight..
QU 3 HU 2
back up for me now too
I do like Union's broadcast team, but "Cornell plays well with the lead...that's their style of play"? I guess Q's style is to play without the lead? ;)
Cornell had the first 5 shots. Shots after: Cornell 2 Union 16. Wow.
Clarkson and Colgate tied at 2
princeton - yale also tied
yay, kennedy! 1-1
kennedy!!
GOAL! P. KENNEDY!!
i love how away play-by-play announcers are so anticlimactic when we score~ "kennedy in the slot puckloosendhescores . . . "
Camera pivot is off when it points towards Scrivens. It feels like we're watching a game in a villain's lair.
To be fair, Jason usually does the same thing when a team scores against us.
Me no understandy ... Of course I have no video
Have to say the Cornell contingent sounds pretty good with the "Kill Red Kill", remote control sieve, and everything else; and Union's response to the Let's Go Red chant sounds like the switchboard lady from Office Space (how may I help *you* ... one moment *please*)
QU now up on Harvard 5-2.
two great chances no goal for cornell
penalty sounded bogus.
sound messed up for anyone else?
Yup.
should have been a goal. all be himself and barlow got off a poor shot.
i emailed b2..they better not send me an email to check my system settings and audio connections.
some for cornell decked from behind. looks like a nocall.
Union audio feed is less messed up and is time-wise synced with the webcast.
Quinnipiac 5 Harvard 2
Yale 4 Princeton 2
mid second
Yale up 4-2 on Princeton.
it does look like 4 on 4 though
Union audio feed is less messed up and is time-wise synced with the webcast.
I tried reconnecting and now can't get video, either, so if you have video up, stay with it, maybe audio will come back.
GALLAGHER!!!!!!!!!!
when i emailed them before about the video, they just told me that it was working and to enjoy the game.
ppg gallagher!
NICE! Gallagher
goal CU..
cornell PP goal. union player lost stick
its like watching radio in reverse..
screw it. im watching b2 video and cornell redcast audio. got it synched up pretty close

Yeah, I'm getting the same thing.
do the b2 people even read the emails before they respond? I swear they have like 3 scripted emails and just send one of them at random.
End of the 2nd, good work from Scrivens to preserve the lead.
If I wanted something that would be unreliable, cut in and out, and sometimes fail all together, I would listen to the Union audio for free.
Oh wait, that's what I am doing. And after the game, I will spend my $8 on beer.
The biggest internet scam. I am not even going to call them. I'm gonna call American Express. B2 should be put on delinquent merchant list.
I'm back up, but w/ no audio. Fucking B2
Yeah, b2 sucks. I watched the Clarkson-Cornell game with it from the Florida tourney and it kept having what looked like a camera welcome screen come up. Junk.
I did...they aren't responding, to that part just telling me that they're working on it. Sound is back up now, but we've already missed about half the game with no video or audio...I'm definitely gonna ask for a refund again if anything goes wrong in the 3rd.

For what's it worth (and I'm pretty sure that's nothing), even the Union free-cast announcers apologized for some technical difficulties that people on the b2 have been having. They say that it should be back up and running now.
So much for my recent raves about Army ... I see that they lost 4-2 to an under .500 Mercyhurst in the Atlantic Hockey semifinals.
Other QF scores 3/15
Clarkson 3 Colagte 3 end 2nd
Quinnipiac 6 Harvard 3 end 2nd
Cornell 2 Union 1 end of 2nd
Yale 4 Princeton 2 end of 2nd

QuoteI am emailing to demand a refund for the Cornell-Union mens ECAC hockey playoff game of 3/15/08. The webcast audio and video have repeatedly failed throughout this webcast, as they have through other B2 webcasts throughout this and other years.
This quality of service plagued Cornell viewers all last year prior to the Cornell AD dropping B2 at our request. Many of us are now petitioning the ECAC and NCAA to remove B2 from the list of providers for any future league products.
B2's products, customer support, and pricing model are seriously inferior when compared with even the barely tolerable of web-based products. We look forward to the day your management either elects to provide quality service or files for bankruptcy.

Great kill leads to Union penalty with :46 left on the Cornell penalty.
A lot more civil than mine...::flipd::
Union just picked up a penalty to negate their PP. 4-4 hockey for a bit.
You don't become a TUC even if your RPI is ABOVE .500 and you win a tournament. Not automatically. So if your RPI is .5008 and you win a conference tournament, you still don't automatically become one. It's just the Top 25 of RPI.

Trotsky,
While I agree with you about B2's terrible performance during the playoffs, wasn't the provider we hated so much over the last couple years CSTV? I don't think B2 had anything to do with it.

Yes, for the last two years, Cornell used CSTV which is a separate entity from B2.
Clarkson and St. Lawrence are using B2 as their internet service provider this year and I watched both North Country games without any issues.
As we all know, issues at the rink (i.e. people stepping on the cords) etc. do affect whether we get video feed or not.
This is the first year that the ECAC has gone to a single service provider for the opening and QF rounds. It might be worth writing a letter detailing your frustrations with B2 to the ECAC. I wrote one explaining my disappointment with plan and how much it was going to cost etc. If more people shared their experiences in a constructive manner, then perhaps next year they might come up with a better plan.
How much time, please??

Some small chance in Albany we won't have to play "anybody better than us in the ECAC." And, yes, I did say "small."
harv scores 15 and gets a split..
who do we want to win these games?
colg wins and we play harv if seed holds?
we could actually be the top seed if things fall right..
Looks like we're the only ones who can sit around and watch the NCAA hoops selection show tomorrow, too. Three-game series across the board.

True we 'tied', but since they beat us twice, its hard to argue they weren't one of the teams above us - and, based on the results this season 'better than us'.
Anyway, technicalities or not, its nice to see us able to get 2 wins on a road against a bye-team that we couldn't be in the regular season.

Which means that Delta was right when he said that we couldn't beat them. If we had beaten them, we would have the tiebreaker.
No doubt about it, the difference this year over last has been the improved special teams. If we keep that going next week, we have a shot (that, plus no one in the league is especially overwhelming).

Or the brothers Grimm.
Fantastic win tonight. Glad we made the trip, and of course we'll be heading back here (well, near here) next weekend.
I was just reading this game thread, and I wanted to comment for those of you planning on doing credit card chargebacks because of the poor B2 product and lack of customer service. While you will get your money back, it almost certainly will not come from B2. Most credit card companies will not bother to start the dispute process for an amount under $10. (For some credit card companies this amount may be even higher--possibly $15 or $20) Instead they will just give it to you, from their own pocket, so to speak. So while you will get the money back, B2 will also get to keep it. So the full affect you are looking for...B2 feeling the loss...won't be achieved.

chargeback obviously isnt the #1 option. #1 option is for b2 to refund the money, otherwise i will issue a chargeback. Fact of the matter is that I got to watch about half of the 1st and 2nd period, and none of the 3rd (I got an error message saying I had reconnected too many times, and to contact customer service, which I did and they never responded). In the end, I want the money to be refunded by $8, but I'll take Citibank giving me the $8 back, as a write-off or not.
I was actually responding more to Trotsky's post, in which he said something like, "If everyone did this, maybe B2 would get the message." I was pointing out that while you guys would (and should) get the money back, B2 would probably never know.
And Trotsky, to file a chargeback you just call your credit card company to start the process. But as I wrote earlier, in this case when you call to start the chargeback they will just give you your money back, instead of starting the chargeback procedure.
For a more significant amount of money, they would take your info, and then, depending on the credit card company, possibly ask you to write up your side of the story. Generally they will credit you the amount while the chargeback is pending. Then, when it is resolved, you keep the credit if it is resolved in your favor. If you lose the chargeback, they just reinstate the initial charge.
i thought he was actually referring to how to request a refund, but I could be wrong.
