No upsets in the first round.  Hopefully that changes in the second.  Quinnipiac is capable but only if they play better than they did down the stretch.  I don't give Yale or Colgate much chance in their series but this is the ECAC so you never know what will happen.

Union since February:

W 4-3 Prn (ok, that's impressive)
T 3-3 Qpc
L 2-3 Hvd
T 0-0 Drt
W 3-2 at Cor (grr...)
L 0-8 at Col
T 3-3 Clk
W 3-1 SLU
W 2-1 at Yal
L 0-2 at Brn (with home ice riding on it)

Not much to choose between that and the way Cornell finished the season.

Interestingly, on Fridays (against the better team each week): 3-1-1. On Saturdays (vs. the weaker): 1-2-2.

Not sure what to take from it, but over the same span plus this weekend, Cornell:
4-2 on Fridays
2-4 on Saturdays

Random stat: Union seniors are 1-6 (1-4 at home) in the playoffs including three OT games with Clarkson three years ago and the epic 5ot loss to yale two years ago.

Princeton was 3-0 against Yale this season.
Clarkson was 0-0-2 against Colgate.
Harvard was 1-0-1 against Quinnipiac.
Union was...well, I guess I don't have to say anything about it here.

Looks pretty good for the top foursome. Clarkson - Colgate could be interesting.

Amerks, congrats on the 'bell.

OMG, are those guys finally seniors?  It's felt like 20 years.  'Gate is so very, very screwed next year.

Seems to me Empty Net is more like a funnel...

FWIW, Empty Net did not fare well in the Sucks vs. Deer Ticks game last month.  Trailing 3-0, Fisher was pulled with over 12 minutes to go in the 3rd, when there were minors called on each team, creating a virtual 5x4.  29 seconds later, Harvard netted one to go up 4-0.  Ironically, Quinnipiac got a real PP 44 seconds later and scored in only 10 seconds.  Fisher stayed put the rest of the way, though.

Of course, here's the weirdest Empty Net situation I've ever seen:

http://www.uscho.com/recaps/20042005/m/12/07/uvm-hu.php

Read down almost halfway.  Not sure if it's right that the officials didn't blow the whistle when Vermont first touched the puck, it might have just deflected off someone, but somehow it was sent towards the Harvard end, with Vermont in-chase (though not in possession), which made everyone think it was a call against Harvard, resulting in Fallon leaving the ice.  When Harvard got the puck and there was still no whistle, Hyphen headed for the bench.  So, for a few moments, Empty Net was playing at both ends.  As the article correctly points out, Harvard clanged one off the post, after which Vermont touched up, play was stopped, and both goalies came back out.

There's a cheer you don't hear too often:

<- No goalie, No goalie ->, Post ->

Which team gets the rights to it though? Harvard, for how lucky Vermont is that they didn't get scored on, or Vermont, saying SUCKS just sucks?

Ken Schott is excited (though this sentence structure makes my head spin):
"And with Cornell fans its dreaded band expected to make the trip to Schenectady, Messa will be rocking this weekend."

How many other people thought for a second that he has an identity issue involving Jar-Jar Binks?
