Congratulations to Coach Donahue and his squad for an amazing run and a very well earned title.
We're proud of you.

I am happy.

I talked to the ticket office last week and they said you have to call the ticket office after selection sunday. My guess is that the NCAA reserves tickets for all the schools that make the Big Dance.
I cant wait. I am definitely going.
Lets Go Red.
Edit:
Also, Cornell win is listed first story on http://cbs.sportsline.com/
Also, please watch ESPN and someone record and put up on youtube, ESPN's coverage of our victory.
It was just the first story on Sports Center, no video yet but the score and stats. They said video will be shown later in the show.
Every story I have seen thus far still says that no school other than Penn or Princeton has won the Ivy League title since 1988. I'm sure Yale would like credit for their 1/3 share of the title in 2002 even if they didn't go to the Big Dance.
Great! Can you please record it.
I just have it videotaped. It was short. Sportscenter only showed a few shots from during the game, everyone rushing the court, and one of the players cutting down the net.
There are some AP photos from the game up on ESPN.com...

Thanks! Let us know when it is on youtube.
I don't have the software to video capture it.
Do you have happen to have the right hardware i.e. some type of a video input such as the yellow cable or s-video?
If so I can direct you to the right free software.
No hardware.

According to CBS Sportsline they have canceled next weekend's games. After all, the picture caption says "Cornell has five scorers reach double figures as it finishes conference play undefeated."

And "ends it season" 20-5! At least they referred to us by our name and not by "that team that played Duke in lacrosse last spring".
Congratulations to Coach Donahue and his group of champions. It seems like even back to the last couple years of my time on the hill we've been looked at as the potential dark horse for winning the league.
Its been a slow steady climb during the Donahue era and it's great to see it all come together this year.
Now I hope for 3 things:
1. A competitive first round game.
2. That we keep our coach
3. Sustained success for the program.

Whoa, whoa, whoa whoa. Hold it just a second there. Is that true? Does this mean no going down to Princeton to see the away game Saturday night?

I just recorded it on my iMac. I just need to trim it down (it's only a couple of seconds long) and put it up. Bear with me.

No; it was just a mistake by the Sportsline AND SportsCenter crews. Next week's games are definitely on.
Thanks!
Unfortunately the women's team wasn't able to hold on to their Ivy League lead. They now trail Harvard by a game (and are tied with Dartmouth) with only two to go - and Harvard's last weekend is against the Yale (5th) and Brown (8th). Cornell finishes with the Ps (6th/7th).

There must have been multiple versions on Sportscenter. The one I saw also showed them cutting down the net and I think they mentioned how it was the first nonPrinceton/UPenn Ivy team in 20 years to make it to the Big Dance.

Did others see the version where they for some reason had to mention Harvard hockey in the same story?

It'll probably be updated at some point soon, but Cornell currently has the front page picture and story. Cornell is named "Team of the Week".
Cornell is also up to 2 votes in the AP poll.

FYP, and added a wishcast.
I thought Josh was refering to UConn being ranked #13 in the AP poll rather than them being a 4th seed.

Ah, yes. Good catch.
I hate UConn. This stems from when they played Yale a few years ago (who hung in there for a half, before getting beat up in the 2nd half) and there was an over-enthusiastic Yale player who commented afterwards, "Maybe we'll see them in the postseason."
A stupid comment, admittedly, since Yale (like Cornell at the time) had very little chance of reaching the NCAA tournament. But UConn coach Jim Calhoun ripped the kid, saying something about watching his mouth and that he had to win some more before making comments like that. Calm down, Calhoun. The kid was over exuberant and unrealistic, but not out of line. There's no reason to verbally smackdown players from less competitive conferences. I don't want to see Yale succeed to a great degree, but since they are an Ivy League school, I will certainly root for them if they play a school like UConn.
Having said all that and unnessecarily caused thread drift, I don't want to see Cornell face a Big East team in the first round. I'd much rather see them play a team from a non Power 6 conference, like Drake or Butler. As per the Cornell Basketball Blog, the Big Red have a better chance of pulling an upset against a less athletic team, from a less athletic conference. The chances of that happening are low, since Drake and Butler won't receive high enough seeds to play Cornell. Plus, calling them "less athletic" is all relative; Cornell will have to play by far its best game of the season to win any first round game.
I will root against UConn as I always do. I will root hard for Cornell, and be proud of them no matter what, since they have given us such a terrific season.

Geez. I thought my "After all" clause made it clear I was just making a joke at CBS's expense.

If Cornell gets a 12 (really unlikely) or 13, Butler is a plausible opponent if they win out.
3 losses in their last 6 will probably bump Drake down to a 7 or 8 seed, which is a pity. After the win at Butler, I thought Drake was primed for a surprisingly high seed. Now I suspect that they won't even win their conference tourney and end up a 10.
Not surprising (because of Tony Kornheiser), but Cornell clinching made the Pardon The Interruption Big Finish. Here's the video...

And ruin the fun that I could have had here in West Lafayette.;-)
(For those new to the thread, last week the bracketologists had Cornell playing Purdue).
I guess this is the thread that has the most traction to put "basketball media coverage" items (I have at least 5 to choose from). :-) Even the fake news outlets are giving us pub:
