Title: gate 4 - Q 3 OT Final
Post by: Jim Hyla on February 24, 2008, 12:16:46 PM
The pregame is up now. Anyone who signed up for our game or who gets NESN should be able to see it. It looks like the video is the NESN feed, but I can't get audio.

Have you found any free internet streaming, or is it just B2?

It's the Q streaming. We signed up to see our game on Friday and it's a month subscription, so this one is "free".

Ahh... I found the Q stream links but I was hoping to find a free radio-only one... I'll let you guys know if I find one on the 'Gate site.

OK, so I'm pleasantly surprised to find out that I can get the Q-Pac video feed without paying.  Sweet.  I got to the free link through the Colgate athletics site.  Live video link on the right, then just click "Play" when the bobcats site comes up.

I also got audio from the Colgate site.  The trick will be to synch up the two.

Unfortunately, the audio from Colgate is about 20-30 seconds behind the video feed, so it's pretty useless.

I can't get the NESN audio, so I'm listening to the Q audio, which is 20 sec ahead.

Colgate is being worthless again...

Q 1- gate 0
Oh well maybe Colgate can't help us either.

Try pausing the audio at something significant like a faceoff and starting it up when you see it happen on the video.  If it's not a 100% live stream, this could synch up the audio and video.  It's how I get Clarkson radio commentary when watching away games with bad feeds.

GATE GOAL! 1-1  Fisher got deked out of his skates.

did audio just start on the video feed for anyone else?

Yep, sweet, I'll switch to that so I have synched up A/V.  Thanks, I would never have checked.

The Q crowd looks like a typical Union crowd -- a huge number of grade school age kids.  I guess the "asshole" cheers are the product of fine Hamden parenting.

Thanks daredevil CU!

The skating drills feature during the intermission brought back some memories and for some reason my quads now feel a bit sore ;-).

Q on PP second goal
Q on PP second goal
Did they ever say what the penalty was for? I thought for sure the penalty was on Q for a hook/trip and so did the broadcasters and then it happened to be a penalty on Colgate.

Unsportsmanlike conduct, probably diving.  He got hooked, but then he made absolutely no effort to get up until he slammed into the boards 50 feet later.  Definitely embellishing trying to get a call.

It was also definitely a hook/trip by the Q player. I disagree with the call.

They did call diving, according to Q announcers.

Would've been a good call to send both players to the box.

Right.  Exactly the situation where what appear to be two contradictory calls actually make sense.

Colgate goal waved off, man in the crease.  Replay shows that it's a good call.

Also, lol at the Q-Pac band.  Who plays Final Countdown in a tie game with 17 minutes left in the 3rd?

Colgate just scored to make it 3-2. About 16 minutes left. Go 'Gate!

another Q PP goal 3-3

So what's the tiebreaker for 3 teams tied? Is it still record against eac other. In which case a Q tie doesn't help us much.

edit: I'm wrong the wins against Q puts us ahead of them, since they only tied Union once, and have losses otherwise.

Well isn't just overall wins the first tie-breaker which Cornell has on both Quinnipiac and Union.

It's too bad, on the three stars Burton didn't even get one. All he did was to score the third goal and had the beautiful assist on the OT goal.:-/
