I got the ECAC schedule from Mr. Hagwell. I've put the Cornell portion here and attached the full ECAC schedule below.

Am I right in thinking the Colgate series will either be over break or in November next year?

I'm assuming Jan, but none of the travel partners have yet been scheduled.
Thanks Jim, awesome to have this so early.

Sat, Feb 14 @ Harvard
Love Story on Valentine's Day. Nice.
I wonder if Cornell and Colgate will go back to playing on Tuesday nights. That would free up another weekend to schedule interconference games.

I didn't notice that.::doh::
Love Story on Valentine's Day. Nice.
Renewing a tradition:
86 A L 3-4
87 A L 0-3 (it's Valentine's Day, and you can't score... ::yark:: )
92 A T 2-2
97 H W 2-1
There are likely others, but I don't have dates in for all the older games yet.
As a former band member I always check the schedule against football. Looks like no band at P/Q next year (or at least not a full one). 11/21-22 is another Weekend of Hate.
Fri, Nov 7 @ Princeton
Sat, Nov 8 @ Quinnipiac [FB vs. D]
Fri, Nov 14
Sat, Nov 15 [FB @ C]
Fri, Nov 21 Harvard
Sat, Nov 22 Dartmouth [FB vs. Penn]

Wow, I might be able to go to the football game at Columbia for the first time since I was an undergrad.
Love Story on Valentine's Day. Nice.
And the night before, they play at Dartmouth, which gives me a chance to cite my favorite Ridiculous Stat: Since the opening of Lynah Rink, the Big Red has gone 12-1 in games played on Friday the 13th, the last one being a 6-0 win over Quinnipiac on 1/13/06. In addition to the Dartmouth game next season, it looks like the ECAC quarterfinal round would begin on Friday March 13th... not to mention there will probably be a game on Friday November 13th, which would be early in the 2009-10 season.
We seem to have won our last 10 straight Friday 13 games played anywhere.
02/13/1987 at Dartmouth
11/13/1987 at Army
01/13/1989 at RPI
03/13/1992 vs Clarkson (ECAC SF)
11/13/1992 Princeton
02/13/1998 Vermont
03/13/1998 at RPI (ECAC 1R)
11/13/1998 at Harvard
02/13/2004 Princeton
01/13/2006 at Quinnipiac

It's not that none of travel-partner games are scheduled, it's that those games are not scheduled by the league but are left to the teams involved. At least that was how it was explained to me a few years ago.

You're correct; I should have said "have yet been announced". Basically, those are worked in as the schools work on their out of conference games.
Yes, its early, but I want to know. LGR LAX!
Based on quotes from Jack Parker and Schafer around the time of the MSG game, I assume there will be a BU game on the schedule as part of the "3 year-agreement". Or do I perhaps remember something about it taking place over alternate years?

BU won't be on Cornell's schedule next year. The agreement was for a game at Agganis for the 2009-10 season and a game at Lynah for the 2010-11 season.

The agreement was for a game at Agganis for the 2009-10 season and a game at Lynah for the 2010-11 season.
My understanding is that that agreement had been changed to go back to MSG sooner in recognition of how successful the game was last November. I wish I could remember who told me that though.
In the '06-'07 season when the BU game was announced, Coach Schafer was quoted by USCHO about future series vs. BU, North Dakota and UNH. Has anybody heard anything recently about the latter two?
I'm probably the one who told you. I had heard that the game scheduled for Agganis in 2 years was being moved to MSG.

Well, on the Sioux board there is talk, some saying for sure, that we are coming out after T'giving. I'd assume 11/28-29. We'll see.
My celebrity waiter at a fund raiser night in Burlington last week was Kevin Sneddon, the UVM coach. I congratulated him on his Coach of the Year award as well as his previous success making Union respectable.
Sneddon was a great guy and really friendly. When I asked him when we will get to see Cornell play UVM again, Sneddon said he really respects our program and would love to set that up, but our AD told him Cornell will never play them again since UVM went to Hockey East. :-(

I can't imagine Andy personally cares one way or the other about UVM's departure from the ECAC.
And personally, I think UVM is crap, their program will continue to win nothing in Hockey East just like they won nothing while they were in the ECAC, and we can do better for non-conference scheduling (e.g. more games with BU, tentative scheduling with UND).
By the way, they define "celebrity" differently in Vermont than they do here in NYC if Kevin Sneddon qualifies. ::demented::

On the Colgate thread on USCHO, someone is reporting that the teams/dates for the Florida College Classic are:
12/27 - 12/28 at Florida Classic with Cornell, Maine, Colorado College
I hadn't seen anywhere that CC would be playing.
Also, they listed the CU/Colgate games as:
11/14 CORNELL
11/15 Cornell
so flipped it'd be 11/14 @Lynah, 11/15 @Colgate

There's a second Florida tournament held these days, over in Tampa. Last year it was RPI, Colorado College, UMass, and Notre Dame. SCSU could be playing in that tournament next year. I think it's called the Lightning College Classic or Florida College Classic instead of the Florida Classic (Estero).

The St. Cloud poster had the same Dec. 27-28 dates. Also, from a few other posts on USCHO, the Tampa tournament is Jan. 2-3 and has UMD, Notre Dame, Lowell and Union. So maybe the Colgate poster got the CC wrong, and it's St. Cloud and not CC, or one of these two posters is mistaken about their own team being there.

QuoteOther NU road games include a pair at Sacred Heart and one at Cornell's Lynah Rink, one of the nation's toughest places to play.
Do sportswriters have a special spell-checker that automatically completes the phrase "Lynah Rink" with "one of the nation's toughest places to play"?
Updated the original post with North Dakota.
I'm sure others have figured this out by now, but it seems to now be confirmed (based on USCHO forum threads) that the first round of the Estero tournament will have us taking on St. Cloud State and Colgate taking on Maine on 12/27/08.

someone was telling me over the weekend about the last time the U-18 team came to Cornell. Apparently one legendary heckler turned the "9:00 and you can't score" cheer into a five-minute ripping tirade on the fact that the entire team was underage and, as such, wouldn't be able to score regardless. It's things like this I'm looking forward to
9:00 and you can't score
OK. For the love of God, can we get this shit straight? That's not the cheer. Never was. You have two options: "It's Friday/Saturday night and you can't score." and "It's 9/10:00. Do you know where your goalie is?" The first speaks for itself. The second is a take on the "It's 10:00. Do you know where your children are?" PSAs that used to be run on television. It doesn't get much simpler than that, and yet Lynah has managed to merge the two into a nonsensical turd of a cheer. Bloody hell.

I'm not usually a curmudgeon about stuff like this; however for this cheer, it definitely matters. I also like the corollary, "It's 9:00. Do you know where your offense is?" depending on the sort of game our Red have brought to the rink that night.

"Hey, JR! You're not a goalie, you're nine o'clock! You're not nine o'clock, you can't score! You're not - um - can't score, your mother called! And she said, tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrnnnn, skate, skate, skate, YOU JUST STOP!!"
The one I heard most was "It's 9:00 PM on a Friday/Saturday night and you can't score." One might say the 9:00 PM is redundant here since it's already stated it's Saturday night, so while this is not the most efficient version in terms of words expended, it's still not technically wrong in any way. Though saying 9:00 PM means you can only say it right around 9:00 PM, which makes it more special because you could say the other versions at any point during a game. However, if it is 9:00 PM and they haven't scored, we have a shutout going, so one would not want to jinx that.

Yeah, I heard a lot of this as well. However, it's really dumb, if not technically wrong. How many college students do/did you know that are/were "scoring" at 9 PM.

True, but that was the latest on-the-hour time a game would be played during, and thus made more sense than 7 or 8.
"Past your bedtime!" clapclap clapclapclap
I'm also confused on why someone being underage makes them unable to score. Its not illegal for an underage person to score with another underage person. I'm pretty sure the statistics for underage sex of this type is a good number higher than 0%.
In addition. Underage people have no legal repercussions when having sex with overage people. In essence: they can have sex with us, we can't have sex with them.
Of course, this is all pointless talk because even if the above weren't true, the age of consent in New York is 17 so most of the kids in the U18 team are, for this purpose, not underage.
So what was that five minute tirade about exactly?
HEY U18... DIE!... DROP DEAD!... HANG THE REFEREE!
wasn't there, couldn't tell you, or I would have already.
and when was the last time you saw a prefrosh get laid at cornell?

"Nine o'clock" eliminates the "9 p.m. ... Friday night" redundancy. Plus there's that nice crisp hard C sound that carries well.

Well in Indiana, you need to be careful with what you do (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25592894/) with your (or your neighbor's) sheep, chicken and dogs.
