"Colgate returns to FULL strength"
- I always loved that homer public address announcer--I don't think he even announced the McCutcheon gwg two years ago
I R suck this year.
Taylor Davenport out at LW tonight. Fontas and Mike Kennedy still in dry dock.
Nice check by Tyler
Greening--Nash--Barlow
Kennedy--Scott--Sawada
Taylor Davenport (not a typo)--Gallagher--Devin
Scali--Mugford--Nichols
Sorry, I missed the defensive pairings.
Colgate : Public Address as St. Lawrence : Broadcast Team
awesome job by the fourth line there
Krantz-Krueger
Berk-Seminoff
B. Nash - M. Devin

Does any one have the video feed up from Colgate?
I am not able to get it to work.

Yeah I have it up.
Brown beat Dartmouth earlier to complete a 4-point weekend. ::panic::
Gotta love the music piped in during the breaks
okay, thanks, I had a software problem. I'm good now.
great discipline so far
Schafer's "non-violent resistance" strategy is working. Second Colgate powerplay coming up.
Topher has to cash in there
Scott rings the post.
Topher apparently hit the post. About 30 sec left in PP #2.
Sounds like some good puck movement.
Shots 11-3 Cornell so far. Who are these guys?
Shots 11-3 Cornell so far. Who are these guys?
awesome effort so far
Krantz, 2 mins boarding
great PK
Cornell PP 0:08
Now maybe a 5x3 to start second period.
The second period will start 5 on 3
Colgate - holding at 0:08
Colgate - contact to the head at 0:01
We will have a 2 man PP advantage for 1:50 to start the second period. I hope we can capitalize.
Cornell is up 39-21 on Yale in mens bball at the half. I am watching wrestling but they never show the team score and I'm not paying enough attention to know whats happening.
This Mountain Do ad makes me want to drive a flathead screwdriver into my ear.
I wonder whether Cornell complaints about last night's non-calls could have led to ECACHL encouraging a tightly called game tonight.
I wonder whether Cornell complaints about last night's non-calls could have led to ECACHL encouraging a tightly called game tonight.
I think it's a combination of having a competent ref and they don't want to let things get out of hand after last night's extracurriculars.
Quote from: David HardingI wonder whether Cornell complaints about last night's non-calls could have led to ECACHL encouraging a tightly called game tonight.
Possibly, and they also have a second referee there tonight (4 total), so that could have been as a result of last nights game.
this 5x3 is critical
Cornell is losing 14-9 to Hofstra in wrestling halfway through the dual meet.

Jason mentioned last night that they'd be going with 4 for this game.
Nieuwy in the pressbox tonight.
BARLOW!!!!
Barlow! 5 on 3
Assists:
R Nash
Gallagher
Barlow!!!
Right off the bat, 19 seconds into the period. Still 1:40 on a 5-4 PP.
Barlow with a nasty slap shot from between the circles upper 90 glove side!

I also thought Jason mentioned that the ECACHL was "experimenting" with the 4 ref system for certain games. It sounds like this was already designated as a test game. A fortuitous thing considering last night's game.
how 'bout them BIG RED?
they also have a second Murphy there tonight
FYP

OMG what a nauseating concept.
they're playing somewhat defensively now, not much offensive pressure
Nichols 2min for slashing 16:13 2nd period
Dan Nicholls, Slashing
Colgate PP
Poplawski, power play, Colgate was moving the puck very well
Shoot. Colgate just tied it up at 17:42 of the 2nd. PPG.
The skating is not as fast as last night. Still lots of hits though. I think Cornell is the more skilled team and Colgate is the more muscular.
The Big Red is going to have to fight really hard for this one.
Go Big Red.
No help from RPI tonight; Princeton up 3-zip.
Nice spot w/ Joe, but...
"...will have his jersey retired sometime later this year"
-UGH
Union is not helping either. Q is up 2-0 early in the 3rd.
Shots
Cornell: 22
Colgate: 13
Faceoffs
Cornell: 27
Colgate: 12
Colgate 5 on 3, hitting after the whistle by Mugford, bad penalty
Mugford with one of his stupid penalties, 8:58 3rd period-Hitting after the whistle. 5-3 for 24secs
Gate 5x3 upcoming.
About halfway through the 3rd and Cornell. Mugford gets a "hitting after the whistle" penalty.
Sounds like it Mugford couldn't hold-up in that the play was at the blue line and called offside.
Colgate has 26 sec on a 5v3.
Timeout Colgate.
1 back.
now 5 on 4
great job by evan
Scali with another shorthanded attempt. He needs to bury one eventually.
9:31 left.
We survive, for now. Even strength again, 1-1.
He will. And when he scores, he will follow up with his whole body going into the goal.
Quote from: RitaScali with another shorthanded attempt. He needs to bury one eventually.
He needed to 1 time that, he had an open net. Good passing on the shorthanded 2 on 1 between him and Sawada.

yeah...he tried to steady the puck--if he one-timed it-->goal
Goal would have been great, but the PK looked very solid throughout. Great pressure up top by Barlow during the first PK shift.
I don't mean to take anything to Joe though--he's had a fabulous weekend
Colgate PP
Atypical penalty by R Nash, didn't look like a hit from behind to me.

that's b/c it wasn't
great PK
Another kill. 5/6 thus far.
4th kill by Cornell in the third. OK, guys, now let's take the cheese (http://images.filmmagic.com/images/tnm/1386692.jpg).
EVAN BARLOW to RILEY NASH!!!!!!!!!!
R Nash from Barlow
Awesome goal
Great setup by Greening

He atoned for his sin!
Riley Nash from Barlow!
LGR!
Tied at 0 in the second. Huge brawl. North Dakota Coach Hextal flips huge bird at ref, who doesn't see it. Another fight as I post this. I love DirecTV.::banana::
Riley Nash with 2:22 left - just after it seemed like Cornell was going to die by the penalty.Assist by Bralow and by Brendan Nash.
Yes!!!!!
That was a pretty goal! Barlow had incredible patience in feeding it to a cutting Riley through the slot.
Fasten your seatbelts... 1:45 left.
Let's make it 3 Big Red
That was a pretty goal! Barlow had incredible patience in feeding it to a cutting Riley through the slot.
Barlow picked some time to have a career game.
ENG!! At least Scali can finish with no goalie!
Joe Scali ENG!
Phew. Nice weekend.
Scali - he really deserved that one
ENG!! At least Scali can finish with no goalie!
Meow
ENG!! At least Scali can finish with no goalie!
That's kinda cold.
Yup. Not much offense but much action!!!!
Scali - he really deserved that one
yes he did!!
A big win by the Big Red.
Topher had an assist on Scali's goal.
Let's hope our fans survive the walk to the parking lot.

Actually it was just a dumb penalty, much like he had last night when 'gate scored. Hard to say he needs to turn down his intensity, but playing smarter would help.

Tonight--yes, last night--it was a crappy call.

FYP.
Very ugly end to this game. Final score was 1-1. In the OT, A ND player got called for hooking and there was a mini-scrum and hitting after the whistle which resulted in 2 minutes in the box for a Gopher.
With just seconds left in the game there was a faceoff and a ND player cross-checks a gopher from behind, and more hitting after the whistle and punching ensue.
Given how "chippy" this game has been, you would think that the refs would just send the teams to the locker room at the end of the game. Nope. In the handshake line one of the Gophers "suckered punch" a Sioux. More fighting players without helmets and gloves.
It will be interesting to see how many players the WCHA DQ for the next game.

All leagues are using 4 for some games. I believe it will be the standard next year.
