Zamboni sucked up a t shirt and blew up the intake manifold - game is currently being suspended
Un-ions Zam-boni.....
SUCKS!!!
Something similar happened at a Colgate-Brown (IIRC) ECAC playoff game about 15 years ago. The Zamboni stalled and melted through the ice.
It's funny this happened, because I had a discussion with someone last weekend at Union about what would happen if the zamboni broke down. I guess the answer is they suspend the game. Seems pretty lame; I'd just play on the snowy ice.

They fixed it after a lengthy delay.
We were all wondering how long it would take to drive a zamboni from Troy to Schenectady.

I guess it would depend if they needed to stop for food. (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4188/is_20061126/ai_n16875434)

I think the larger problem is the huge pool of melted ice directly underneath the immobile zamboni.
The most unusual happening at Union is they're over .500.

I thought that was what the thread would be about, too.
A new guy stalled a Zamboni in between the circles before my pick-up skate once, and noone could get it started in time for our skate. At first we planned to push it out of the way, but then we realized that is wasn't going to go anywhere with the shaving blade down.
I don't know how you can quickly get one off the ice without hooking up the hydraulics to something to power them or possibly disconnecting them altogether so the blade can be lifted.
