Title: Huggy Bear copyright violation?
Post by: RichH on January 06, 2008, 09:40:56 PM
Since I'm one of the haters of the Huggy Bear CU Athletics logo (more for love of "leany-bear" than anything else), I can't believe I was somewhat upset when I happened to see the below item in an Old Navy.

Sure, it's some sort of member of the cat family instead of a bear, but the positioning of the arms and the red block letter make me think that it's more than coincidence.

There are 3 other styles.  A "T" with a tiger, a "B" with a Beaver (+ hockey stick!), and a W with what appears to be a wolf that is reminiscent of the UVM logo.  Click on the colors to see them on the below link:

I didn't think you could make a less-appealing version of that logo.

If someone from Cornell is reading this, Ugarte, you're woofing. Guilty, guilty, guilty. Just you wait.
