Title: IJ Article about 3rd period leads
Post by: sah67 on January 01, 2008, 11:08:45 PM
This week's "Off The Crossbar" column in the IJ talks about Cornell's previous history of holding onto third period leads and their failure to do so last weekend.  It's also noted that both Barlow and Brendon Nash were scratched for health reasons in Saturday's game against Clarkson.

Quote from: Ithaca JournalOver the years, the Big Red has built a reputation for being unbeatable when it holds a lead after two periods

NCAA semifinal, 1973
Cornell 5, Wisconsin 2 - start of third
Cornell 5, Wisconsin 4 - final minute
Wisconsin 6, Cornell 5 - OT

... That was a long while ago. But if you were to make a list of All-Time Cornell Sports Downers, this is right up there.
