[correcting subject to Siena not Iona] If they had to go 1-1, I'd rather hockey beat BU and basketball lost to Siena. Instead, the basketball team hit 11x19 treys and beat Siena 83-77. There was a time when it would have been an accomplishment to hit 11x19 free throws. LGR.

>>> ITHACA, N.Y. -- Sophomore Louis Dale led five double figure scorers with 20 points to go along with nine rebounds and six assists as Cornell defeated Siena 83-77 on Sunday afternoon at Newman Arena. The Big Red improved to 3-1 with the win, while the Saints fell to 2-3.
In a battle of preseason conference favorites, Cornell shot 55 percent from the floor and connected on 11-of-19 3-pointers to claim the victory. Ryan Wittman had his first career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Collin Robinson notched 14 points and seven assists. Both Brian Kreefer and Adam Gore each had 10 points in the win for the Big Red.
Siena was led by Alex Franklin's 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Edwin Ubiles added 17 points and Kenny Hasbrouck tallied 16. Ronald Moore rounded out the double figure scorers for the preseason MAAC favorite Saints
I can't decide which is more wrong - that you question whether this is an upset (it is), or that "Iona" is in the thread title. I can assure you that it would not be an upset if Cornell beat Iona.
Don't knock the Gaels. At least they've been to the tournament since the current freshmen were born.

The juniors and seniors on Iona played in the NCAA tournament in 2006. And? The Gaels won 2 games last year. They have won zero games this year. It would not be an upset if Cornell beat Iona.

No, the Saints upset Stanford. The Gaels are Iona.
They got out to a small lead at the start, but we tied it at 15 & never trailed again. http://cornellsun.com/node/26319
So where is vaunted transfer Andre Wilkins? I haven't seen him mentioned in any post-game reports.
