With tonights games, as of 11:39PM on 9 Feb, LeNeveu is now #1 in the country in GAA with 1.45, with a slim .01 lead over Cam McCormick. Keep it up, David!!! Underhill sits 5th at 1.77. I love having two absoultely stellar goalies!
LeNeveu is 3rd in save %, and Underhill is 9th. LGR!
How did David have a 1.45 before the game, allow 2, and have a 1.45 after the game?
I suspect the stats haven't been updated yet.
That having been said, nice job last night Matt and nice job tonight David! Lets keep it up.
Lenny's GAA should move up to 1.50 after tonight. . .that should be good enough to keep him in first b/c McCormick allowed 3 tonight.
Also, since we allowed 2 tonight and Ryanmiller State... err, Michigan State allowed 3 (and lost to Notre Dame), we're creeping up on them for #1 in the nation on team defense... 1.77 as a team for us, 1.74 as a team for MSU. Impressive indeed that we have two goalies that can put up such great numbers.
USCHO now has updated the numbers:
#5 Matt Underhill, Cornell, 1.77
#4 Ryan Miller, Michigan State, 1.73
#3 Wade Dubielewicz, Denver, 1.61
#2 Cam McCormick, Lowell, 1.54
and the #1 goaltender in the nation:
#1 David LeNeveu, Cornell, 1.51
That Cornell has two goalies in the top 5 is spectacular, but I think that Ryan Miller is still the most impressive goalie in college hockey. He has 7 shutouts, and over 1800 minutes played. Neither of the Cornell goalies has half that, and Cam McCormick has around 1100.
Two great goalies gives Cornell an advantage because we can keep our goalies rested, but I think the best individual achievement in net is still going on in East Lansing.
Probably. But I'll let the Spartan fans run with that. Screw objectivity... ;-)
