1st period:
Cor 1 - Riley Nash (unassisted) - 15:26
3rd period:
Cor 2 - Colin Greening (Riley Nash, Taylor Davenport) ENG, 19:20
Yale 1 - Sean Backman (Chris Cahill) EAG, 19:55
Sweep, sweep, sweep...BEND OVER BEND OVER:-D
The CSTV webcast: "We're sorry, but this event has not yet begun. Please try back later." Nothing's changed. Yale offers it free, at least.

And to think I booted into Windoze for this.
Scrivens in net tonight...with a good performance, will we see him again tomorrow night, or will the rotation continue?
to be fair.. they do say 7pm est... and that's not for another minute or so
Scali, Nicholls, and Fontas on the fourth line. Others seem the same as against Q.
6:59 and the webcast has "still not yet begun"...good to see you again, All-Access
Yeah, not their fault they dropped the puck 30 seconds early.
7:02 now. Still "not yet begun." I suppose faceoff is 7:03 or :05.
There may be A faceoff then, but the opening faceoff has already taken place.
you now have my permission to complain ::popcorn::
And Scrivens makes a save.
Sounds like Ylae is throwing a lot of rubber at Scrivens early...it would be nice to see of course. Get it out of the zone boys.
And video makes an cameo, for now...
Webcast is on and we can't clear.
really terrible announcing...
Cornell pp coming up.
really terrible announcing...
Which is why I'm watching the video with the Yale audio muted, and the Cornell redcast audio on ;)
Me too, it's off by a really small amount but not enough to matter.
Power outage so far...
Penalty killed...pp not looking so hot. But then again they dumped it and Yale cleared so much, they didn't have much time to get anything set up.
As an aside, I'm much more impressed with Redcast now. Not only is the full screen video a much clearer picture, but there is an actual score displayed. And to think we were complaining that there is no PP or game time shown on the Redcast.
Yale with a flurry of shots but Scrivens makes the saves.
Ref is Matthew Smith...new one for me.
Too many men penalty for Cornell.
God this announcer is an idiot.

No, but when he takes a few minutes to realize there's a power play, I'm not sure that's any better.
I thought recast video was only available for home games? What is the video through?
Scrivens having some issues with rebound control so far
CSTV is now Mac Friendly (at least MacBook).
Jason's audio feed (on a different computer) and the video feed are way off. I think I may opt for idiot announcers.
Cornell going on the PP.
LGR!
PP #2 coming up for Cornell
I thought recast video was only available for home games? What is the video through?
Redcast is audio-only for away games.
Redcast is audio-only for away games.
And it came on right on-time and has been clear.
I actually like the audio better. The vidcast gives me a headache.
NASH!
1-0 Cornell
Nash off a turnover!
riley nash. unassisted, or possibly from greening.
Yeah!!
Riley Nash!
Nash! Hopefully the first of many.
Nash! Hopefully the first of many.
Right.
Around the league:
Col 1 Brn 1

SLU 1 Prn 0
Qpc 2 Clk 0 ?!
CSTV is now Mac Friendly (at least MacBook).
Yeah, I viewed the page source and saw some javascript browswer-sniffing. Still guilty of idiot web design that checks for a finite number of OS/Browser combinations rather than just providing the content like RedCast does.
3rd PP coming up for Cornell
"Revenge" game for Q tonight. Hope they can pull it off.
Another Cornell pp coming up
Btw, "It's all your fault" came through loud and clear on the Nash goal, despite Jason saying there was a smaller-than usual Faithful showing.
thanks. Didn't know it was free.
Crossbar. Damn.
Great second half of this period, after what looked like some initial uneasiness.

Yeah, it told me I couldn't use Firefox and had to use Safari, but at least it supports the platform. Still, I'd rather have RedCast which doesn't try to use such overly fancy technology, and has actually been up and running on time!
and Devin (Mike) rings one of the crossbar
Devin hits cross-bar
end of the period
Three power plays yet only four shots on goal. Fortunate one-goal lead after one.
Great second half of this period, after what looked like some initial uneasiness.
Power play worked the puck away from the points, right Candace?
Five promos and then an into.
Come on, Candace, let's get some promos up in here! What do I pay you for?
(I love it when they don't take themselves off webcast!)
::smashfreak::Improvement in audio!?!?
LOL! Hate to hear his "analysis" of the 1st.
Great cymbals.
Well I can handle some iffy audio, considering All-Access gave me the all too familiar second period disconnection for no apparent reason.
I can't remember where the game was last year when the guy was burping and doing all sorts of weird things. He never took himself off for the whole game. Pretty funny stuff.
Gametracker stuck with 3:11 left in the first.
And now a "this event has not yet begun" from All-Access...
Jason's really givin it to Scrivens about his rebound control ;)
And now a "this event has not yet begun" from All-Access...
Hmm, they probably couldn't afford the "This Intermission has not yet begun" graphic
Well it really is nice to see all the hard work they put in during the offseason in order to make a better product. Oh, wait...
hey everyone,
ive been trying to watch on all access but have been getting a "the event has not yet begun" message. is this only because its intermission or am i doing something wrong?
thanks!
Does this mean we have to change the title of the thread back to Cornell vs. Yale Pregame?
Don't worry it's not you, just keep trying and the video will be there eventually.
ah, im starting to see why you guys used to complain about all access. thanks.

Interesting, a view of someone's windows desktop is now visible on the all access feed. Earth to CSTV...do you read?
Anyone else seeing this weird computerish video now? Or should I head to bed for the night?
Anyone else seeing this weird computerish video now? Or should I head to bed for the night?
Yup...looks like the all-access technician is trying to figure out this weird technology called "Windows", and letting us all watch ;)
Yeah, now it's a desktop with a "Dell Support" popup
How can there be problems if the event hasn't begun?

I guess this is a good time to see if that "email us" button really works.

right. good excuse to use redcast audio.
Sounds like this is a pretty even period. We need another one of our bursts.
Yale audio sucks and Redcast audio is running about 15 seconds behind here.

Must be location-dependent. My All-Access is well ahead of Jason.

We don't get many from the Boston area.
Cornell women leading Yale 2-0 after 2. Sounds like they may have improved this year.
Jason has Q up 2-1 after two.
First good chances for Cornell in about 6 minutes.
Cornell putting on some good offensive pressure here...Blase forced to make some big saves.
Some good chances.
that made me nervous
13:29 to go, good save by Scrivens.
Another huge save by Scrivens.
Kreuger with a chance and then Scrivens with a save at the other end. About 14 minutes left in the 3rd.
Too much play in our end.

And Brown goes up 3-2 on 'Gate
Smith seems to be missing a couple obvious penalties tonight.
Scrivens doing a good job right now keeping us on top.
Scrivens with some big saves. 6 minutes left in the 3rd.
No call on Yale for the hit on Taylor Davenport??
I think its Qu 2-1 over Clarkson according to a QU fan over at USCHO
We seem to act like we're on PK during even-strength this game.
Cornell pp.
Cornell going on the PP.
Cornell PP. P. Kennedy got tripped.
P. Kennedy tripped up on a breakway, no PS...Cornell PP instead.
How is the powerplay looking in general? I'm listening to the free audio (Yale radio online) and the commentary is awful.
At least we controlled the puck during that PP.
Back to 5 on 5.
How much time left?
Empty Net for Yale
Greening ENG
Time?
The Cornell PP looks "stagnate" in that everyone seems to have an assigned area and there is little movement outside their area to open up any ice.
I watched some of the Calgary-Vancouver game last night, and I really liked how Calgary moved without the puck. The forwards would drop down to cover the points when the D skated the puck in a bit and the other forwards would make cuts to open up ice and passing lanes.
ENG.. Colin Greening!! PHEW!
Greening
Well Greening puts it away, and ends my All-Access misery
ENG!! Greening!!!
Sweet.
Empty-netter. Tough win, but I'll take it.
Cornell women leading Yale 2-0 after 2. Sounds like they may have improved this year.
Cornell's women's team is much improved over 3 years ago. I can't really compare them to more recent squads, since I haven't been to a women's game in 2-3 years.
Improvement or not, Yale was a much better team, and it showed - Yale got 4 goals in about a 10 minute span in the third plus an empty netter with ~4 minutes left. 5-2 final, Yale wins.
Cornell was without leading scorer and super-frosh Rebecca Johnston, who was playing for Team Canada in the 4 Nations Cup (or maybe the U-19, I can't remember and don't feel like looking it up). If she had helped Cornell get another goal in the first two periods, she might have made a difference, but Yale was better - faster, stronger, better shooters, better goaltending. Cornell handled the puck well and set up both goals with some pretty puck movement, but once Yale evened it up there was little to no hope for a Cornell win. Cornell looked to be tiring and Yale's speed won out.
I don't know how good the top 4 teams are in the ECAC (or even which teams are likely to be in the top 4, although I imagine three of them are Harvard, Dartmouth, and SLU), but Yale could wind up playing, and winning, at home in the first round. They've got tons of upside on that roster. Cornell should be in the playoff hunt (top 8 qualify, unless they changed it) but isn't likely to make it out of the first round if they do get there. This team's 2 solid recruiting classes away from challenging for home ice and playoff wins, but it's nice to see the talent level picking up.
Overall, I thought Cornell played an incredible second period and a strong third period, but they didn't have the legs to hold on to the lead.
I now return you to your men's hockey discussion. I'm off to bed. :)
Actually...thanks, Tom. I've missed your women's team updates. Johnston is definitely a key player.
Well, I'm glad someone likes them. I missed the Brown game, which is too bad since it seems Cornell pulled out a point with a last second PPG. Brown's struggling early this year, and may have a tough time making the playoffs. Historically, Brown's had an excellent team under Cornell alum Digit Murphy, but they've been on a bit of a downturn lately.
If I make it to another women's game I'll post a brief recap.
The Yale commentator was convinced they would come back after that goal... very odd
For what it's worth, in Sunday's game against Colgate, Yale scored six seconds after the opening faceoff of the second period. A tying goal Friday night was not impossible, although very, very unlikely.
