The team is playing Dartmouth and is being broadcast on the YES network as I type.
But, NO, we have no defense.

Dartmouth 59 Cornell 31 Final
Another game where Cornell puts more than 30 points on the scoreboard. Way to go, Red.
does the marching band not travel to dartmouth? I was disappointed when they weren't there. Dartmouth's band is pathetic.
I think if Cornell gets their turnovers below 6, maybe they can win.

Typically the marching band goes on three Ivy football roadtrips a year; some years there are only three away Ivy games, but some there are four, and the band generally doesn't go on all four. This is one of those years, and I assume they picked Dartmouth to skip.
The Big Red band went en masse to Princeton. Smart move for a TV audience. One thing people have observed about the Cornell experience: More than any other Ivy school, regardless of the quality of the education, Cornellians say, "I loved my time there." Stuff like the band at Princeton is part of the Cornell experience.
So, alas, is losing games on turnovers.
Since the current schedule rotation was set around '99 when Princeton started playing home games again, Dartmouth has fallen in the 4 road game years with Penn, Princeton, and Yale, which are all more attractive road trips. The last time Cornell had a band at Dartmouth for football was 1999. That was also that last time Dartmouth fell before Yale on the schedule. We've opened the Ivy season with Yale ever since.

For Penn-Princeton-Yale, is it a day trip for the band?
They are, almost without exception, overnights.
Indeed, only the Pep Band does football day trips. Those bus trips are so "exhausting" that it would be very difficult to march right after getting off the bus.
