BR Puckhead notes that Cornell has two more players committed, both for '09 from the St. Mike's Buzzers of the OPJHL:
http://bigredpuckhead.blogspot.com/2007/10/big-red-buzz.html
Erik Axell, a 6'3" 1990-born forward who was drafted in the 8th round of the OHL draft but chose to go the NCAA route.
Nick D'Agostino is a 6'3" 1990-born defenseman. Both are in their first year of Jr. A hockey.
Pegoraro played with the St. Mikes Buzzards.
Guys, Mike must love eating at Subway these days.
Sounds like he's really in the market for grinders.
Seem like a bunch of roll players, which you need, but still waiting for some high impact guys - both for the Class of 2008 and 2009 (admittedly early for 2009).

Cornell will be fine. I don't think these two guys are the answer though.

Second in goals on the team with 10? And I thought our offense was anemic!
QuoteIn his first season at Cushing, (Sean Whitney)played in 29 games, scoring four goals and tallying 17 assists for 21 points. Whitney followed that up with 10 goals and 12 assists as a senior at Cushing, bringing his two-year total at the New England prep school to 14 goals and 19 assists.
So do we finally have a sniper from the defensive position? Or is it too early to tell?

Too early to tell. For what it's worth (not much), Sean's brother Ryan had 12 goals (including 7 PPGs) and was sixth in total points for the Penguins last year. However, it would be unfair for us to expect Sean Whitney and Chris Moulson to play like their older brothers. It would be surprisingly great if they can even come close.

Going from prep school to D1 is a big jump that is made much more rarely today than 15 or 20 years ago. The last Cornell player to go straight from a New England prep school to Cornell was Sam Paolini.
I urge Polar and others to be patient with Sean Whitney.

We'd have to. There's so much at steak.
However, keep in mind that the best laid plans of coaches and fans often go a-rye. But olive through it, and so will everyone else.
Is it the regular seasoning yet?
No, it's still warm, the weather in Ithaca hasn't gotten brisket enough yet.
It's obviously not chili enough. What do you think would happen if the Harvard game was played over the summer? Would the thrown tuna melt along with the ice?

Sounds like he's really in the market for grinders .
Seem like a bunch of roll players, which you need, but still waiting for some high impact guys - both for the Class of 2008 and 2009 (admittedly early for 2009).
So instead of grinders you seem to be looking for heroes.;-)
A few will turn out to be just subs.
Perhaps, but I relish having a deep, solid lineup.
Might need more than that if you have to play ketchup.
That would be quite the pickle!
Lettuce hope Cornell doesn't find itself in such a pickle.
If it does, we should just wok into Andy Noel's office and give him a peas of our mind.
It would certainly be cucumbersome to try, and Harvard would chicken out anyway.
I'm really starting to have a beef with this thread. Don't you all have something butter to do?

I, on the other hand, am quite amaized ;-). To answer your question:
I do not because my lovely maize
suffers from a weather induced laze
and proliferating weeds
doing their dirty deeds.
The cold, rainy May put me in this phase.

Alternately, you could've said it's the wurst thread we've ever had.

If you go to B2cable.com at times they play St. Mike games,I have watched 3 of them in the past week.Get a look at Erik Axell and Nick D'Agistino. It is free!
Jarred Seymore and the Stouffville team are on b2cable OPJHL.
Jarred Seymore and the Stouffville team are on b2cable OPJHL.
For those of us who weren't able to tune in, any opinion about him (or about Axell and D'Agostino as you mentioned in your earlier post)?
D'Agostino looks great,he has the speed, hands, size and hockey sence to play for us this year.Axell looks good alot like P.Kennedy or collins,I think it will take some time to adjust to the speed.

At the World Jr. A Challenge this year, D'Agostino and Birch were both playing for Team Canada East and were described as the best defensemen on the team.
D'Agostino will help the brake out and the power-play.I did not get to see Seymore to much but he di d look big.Ithink his team is on B2cable.com-opjhl right now.
Good clip of #12 Erik Axell
