Have many people purchased through Ticketmaster? I redid my order this morning after the ticket office folks lost my first order, and found out they had only processed "5 orders" so far, and still have plenty of tickets

That's about what I'd expect, and far more typical of these attempts to play college hockey in big arenas, with the exception of long-standing tourneys in more hockey-crazy areas like Michigan. CU-Colgate at Nassau, the SIT, stuff like that is typically the norm around here. The situation at MSG is definitely an aberration.
Are the lines really different in Blue Cross Arena as Coach Schafer is quoted as saying in the Daily Sun today?

I presume they are AHL lines which would be consistent with NHL lines.

Correct.
Also, don't forget the goalie zone lines. Other differences at the Blue Cross compared to Lynah include benches next to each other without a divider between them and penalty boxes on either side of the PA announcer box. The ice and glass are both NHL quality and regulation. It's a good arena.

I, for one, am somewhat sad I'll be missing this. For my hometown, Rochester was the closest "city," and I did my grad work at the U. of Rochester.
I'm going to urge anyone in Ithaca on the fence about making the trip to do so. It's a nice 90-minute drive up the lakes in the fall (and is a shorter trip than it is to go to Colgate). Rt. 96 -> Thruway -> I490 is pretty quick. The arena was renovated and expanded about 10 years ago, so it's actually a decent facility, compared to say the Syracuse War Memorial. The Dinosaur BBQ in the old Lehigh Valley RR staion is across the street.

I, too, would love to go, but I have other commitments both Saturday and Sunday. Those who can go really should.
This is an event for the Cornell club of Rochester, so we should have some representatives. I gather the boosters are not sold out.

I'd take route 89 -> Thruway -> I490 instead. There's less traffic and no small towns to slow you down.

That, and 96 is under construction, so those who don't believe that 89 is faster (I think it is - and it's certainly prettier) should avoid 96 anyway.
Well, it looks like I might be able to go. However it will be a last minute decision, so I will be buying tickets there. I know I'll probably be able to sit anywhere, but do any of you know which are the Cornell sections?

Yeah, I can't either, and I'm sure I'm reading the ticket correctly. I just checked the bluecrossarena website, and they were advertising tickets as all being General Admission, so that must be what the GA stands for.

Heading up with the wife and we're meeting 5 family/friends for reinforcement. :)
IIRC, when Cornell played Niagara the Cornell section was on the Exchange Blvd side of BCA. I believe Cornell was the designated home team that game, so that might mean Cornell fans will sit on the river side. I suspect they'll have signs posted which will direct people to the Cornell sections. Of course, it shouldn't be a problem to find folks.
