A three-team deal has sent NLL star and former Ivy Player of the Year Sean Greenhalgh '05 from the Philadelphia Wings to the Buffalo Bandits. A bummer for Philly folks like me but good news for Cornell lax fans in Western New York and Ontario.

[I've asked Age to consolidate the various lax alumni threads into one.] Thanks, Age.
As I was flipping through the channels just now, I caught the start of a halftime interview with David Mitchell. They referred to his time with Cornell and participation in the championship weekend this year. David's Boston team is playing Rochester and is at halftime right now on ESPN2.
Last night I was at Sid's Bike Shop in Chelsea for some gear and a clinic with my Team in Training group, when a guy came in the shop wearing both a Cornell Lacrosse backpack and a Cornell Lacrosse shirt, not something you see too much around Manhattan. I introduced myself, and it turned out to be Matt Robbins '07, a D-man/Middie who had some injury trouble the last couple of years.
Matt's now living in the neighborhood and working downtown, but mentioned that "a lot" of his friends from the class of 2007 were now playing professional lacrosse (at the incredible professional sports salary of about $600/game). There wasn't much to say about this just-ended season that hadn't already been said before, but we said it anyway. Nice guy.
Well, you just made my older daughter's day. Matt Robbins came down during the '06-'07 school year to read to her kindergarten class (regularly). She was excited to hear news of his whereabouts.
His dedication to reading to her class (and her excitement about him) was one of the major influences that pushed me to start going to lacrosse games this year. By all reports he is an extremely nice guy...volunteering to spend a few hours a week with a bunch of 5 year olds takes somebody special.
Of course, quite a few other members of the lacrosse team volunteered down at my daughter's elementary school as well. Nice group of guys.

Mitchell has been great for the Cannons. He has scored 11 goals already (4 against Chicago earlier this month).

What about for Sean and his day job? How does he juggle that?
