Title: ESPNU Comes to Time Warner
Post by: CornellFan on May 17, 2007, 08:01:20 AM
The ESPNU network, which has produced several Cornell/Ivy basketball games and this year's lacrosse tournament, was previously available only to DirecTV subscribers.  However, commencing June 19, ESPNU joins Time Warner cable.  Good news for mid major college basketball fans.

Still, it's good to have.

Will this be on the regular digital package or is it part of an additional pay tier?

Saturday games (I haven't checked about Sunday), are also being carried on FSNY, which nearly everybody in the tri-state area gets.
Title: Sports Tier

I believe I read that ESPNU will be part of the Time Warner Sports Tier.  Basically, for about $5 extra per month, you get CSTV, Fox Sports Atlantic, Fox Sports Central, Fox Sports Pac, and ESPNU.

This is a terrific package and I am currently a subscriber.  You basically get around the clock college football, hockey, basketball, baseball as well as other sports.  Fox Sports does a terrific job of showing the midwestern hockey league games (whole lot of Minnesota games).  ESPNU is great for college hoops.  Everyone should look into this package in September once school is back in session.  Not much sense to purchase it now-- as the summer is relatively dead for these channels.

This applies to one particular TW cable system in NY.  I live in LA and have no reason to believe that ESPNU will start in LA on 6/19, although I do believe we will get it some time in 2007.
