Three Cornellians, three Dukies, two Tigers, and four from Albany!  Only one each from Hopkins, Virginia, Navy, and Maryland.

He'll never get the award, but I was glad to see Albany's Jordan Levine on the short list. He was sensational when I saw him a while back against Drexel.

I'm surprised Pittard didn't make the cut.  He's having a phenomenal year.

I think both Mitchell and Pittard deserve to be represented.  But, it's only 17 players.  I think Mitchell gets the nod because he is more recognized around the lacrosse world and has been on everyone's radar screen even before the season started (preseason watch list).  Pittard on the other hand has stepped out from the shadows of Mitchell and Haswell and has become a force over the course of the season--so people aren't as familiar with him.  Regardless, both have been critical to our success--Mitchell with goal scoring, riding and ground ball work and Pittard with his goal scoring and playmaking.

Was Pittard even on the watch list? I think the nominees come from the watch list.
