Title: Nanaimo wins BCHL Championship
Post by: sah67 on April 17, 2007, 01:34:00 PM
This hasn't been posted on Big Red Puckhead yet, but the Clippers won the BCHL championship yesterday, with a 3-2 win over the Vernon Vipers.  Michael Garman ('08 recruit) had 26 saves, while Byron's brother Joe Bitz (not currently a commitment) had a goal.  The Devin brothers were scoreless.

EDIT: This just got posted on BRP as I hit submit ::smashfreak::

Is it wrong of me to think of Nanaimo as "The Other Little Red"?  :-D

According to the recap on the team's webpage (http://www.nanaimoclippers.com/index.php?news_id=198&start=0&category_id=&parent_id=&arcyear=&arcmonth=), the Clippers now play the Doyle Cup championship series against the Camrose Kodiaks, champions of the AJHL.  Camrose features a number of incoming NCAA players, including Harvard's Eric Kroshus (an '08 recruit).  The winner of that series qualifies for the Royal Bank Cup, Canada's Junior A hockey championship, to be played in May in Prince George, BC.

And then what are the next three rounds after that? Geez.
