Sasha Pokulok, lately with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL, has been moved from 7-day Injured Reserve to 30-day Injured Reserve.
Douglas didn't get to play in the Sharks game this evening. Guess he got bumped back out by the other d-man. Sharks won 6-2 over the Kings.

You're supposed to rest up between bouts.
Moulson had a 5 for fighting in last night's Monarchs win over the Wolfpack.
It was "New Hampshire Legends of Hockey" night and they Monarchs wore Dartmouth inspired jerseys. The singularly unattractive jerseys were auctioned off after the game -- Moulson's went for $800. This also means that the right honorable Hugh Jessiman played against the guys in the Dartmouth jerseys.
The only photo so far I've found with the travesty of a jersey is from the Union Leader:

Quote from: Union LeaderThe Manchester Monarchs, in keeping with the tradition of Legends of Hockey Day, wore Dartmouth College retro jerseys that were auctioned off after the game.
One player who noticed was former Big Green standout Hugh Jessiman, now a winger for Hartford.
"It was kind of funny actually," said Jessiman of seeing Manchester wearing the Dartmouth jerseys. "You just think about it before the game and think of the irony."

Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes. (Airplane II?)
LGR!
Is the irony that he was a first round pick 10 years ago and still plays hockey in a league where they might possibly honor Dartmouth?

didn't the rangers pass on zach parise when they drafted jessiman?

::bang::
Speaking of Dartmouth and the NHL, I saw that Stempniak had two goals last night for the Blues bringing his total up to 27 for the year. Not too shabby.

Yes! not to mention Ryan Getzlaf, Dustin Brown, Steve Bernier, Brent Seabrook, Patrick Eaves, Correy Perry, Patrice Bergeron, Mike Richards, Matt Carle, and a whole host of other promising prospects and productive NHL players. 2003 might go down as the deepest draft of the last 20 years and the Rangers, holding a top 12 pick, still managed to blow it.::bang::
at the same time, a fan base whose highest ever pick (#15 overall, only 3 picks later than Hugh) is currently languishing in the ECHL probably shouldn't be crowing too much about Jessiman being picked too high or his troubles in the pro ranks.

Trivia: Jessiman is one of only two players from the first round of that draft who has not yet played in an NHL game. (All others, including goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, have at least one NHL point as well.) The other is Brian Boyle of BC, who will play in the Frozen Four this weekend (and presumably sign a pro contract afterwards).
McKee is the AHL P.O.W.
And a CLarkson 'alum' plays with Charlie Cook and Ryan V. tonight for the Binghamton Senators:
QuoteRookie left wing Shawn Weller practiced with the B-Sens and is expected to make his debut starting at 7:05 tonight when Binghamton hosts Hershey.
"Pretty excited," said Weller, a third-round pick in 2004. "It's always exciting when you first sign, and get to play your first pro game. So I'm excited to be here and ready to get things going."
Weller had 19 goals and 21 assists in 38 games this past season with Clarkson University.

He didn't fare all that well tonight (http://stats.theahl.com/stats/official-game-report.php?game_id=1003223).
FWIW, Ron Fournier said on a Montreal radio yesterday that Ryan O'Byrne is expected to compete for a roster spot in Montreal next season. Gainey plans on letting a lot of his veteran Dmen walk and giving some of the younger guys like O'Byrne an opportunity. This is all according to Fournier.
LeNeveu did not play at all during March for San Antonio Rampage. Did I miss something? Is he hurt? Traded?

According to what I see, Lenny hasn't played since March 24th, but he did play 3 times in the month of March. The other guy has stats of 2.5/92%, while Lenny is at 3/90%. If they're going with their hotter hand for the playoff run, can't say I blame them.
(Okay, I just noticed the Rampage are well out of the playoffs... let the man get some time! ;) )
he tweaked his groin...forgot where I read it, but SA had Morrison backing up Tjordman for a week or so.

...and he's back in the ECHL. after making the most of his first 3 games, he sure blew the last 2. i wonder how this affects his standing in the Ducks organization?

I don't think that it does. Portland is not making the playoffs, but Augusta is playing Charlotte in the 1st round of the ECHL playoffs right now.
McKee took the loss (2-1) in the 1st game of the series

Princeton alumnus George Parros is currently featured as the front page picture on ESPN.com. The story is, of course, about mullets.

QuoteMr. Mullet's take: I love this guy. Love it! He's got the hair, and the soft-porn mustache to go with it. George got into Princeton. So, to have a hockey player that looks like this and to have him come from the Ivy League and have him be a fighter, too? That's just perfect.
In each of the first two games, a Sharks player has been knocked out of the game by an illegal hit (each was a game misconduct). I wonder if this might prompt the Sharks to put Doug in the lineup tonight to try to gain back the advantage in physical play.

I was thinking the same thing. But, I'm guessing that if he does play it will be as the 7th D and he'll only see about 5minutes of ice time. Still, it would be nice for him to finally play in the playoffs.
No Murray tonight
No Murray tonight
Should just put this on autorepeat throughout the playoffs.
