In this morning's Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, there's an article about NAHL goalie Dave McKee of the Texas Tornado. The Tornado's coach predicts that he'll be the first NCAA D-1 goalie from the state of Texas - currently 6th in NAHL save pct (.900) and 3rd in GAA (2.3). To quote the article, "McKee is visiting Cornell this week. He has also received interest from Howard and Ferris State, among others." Howard? Wonder if that mean's Harvard, or if there's something I don't know about Howard's hockey team...
Not sure if he'd be looking to start next fall - this is his first season in the NAHL but he is already 18.
Christ Heisenberg's site lists a goalie named "Mike" McKee for Texax, but doesn't have any stats on him. Speaking of Chris's site, have you seen the guys coming in next fall? They are (in order):
6' 175
6'1" 185
6'2" 175
6'2" 200
6'4" 204
Egad. A couple of them look a little light, but I guess that's why we have a weight room - never heard of a "height room!"
Trivia question of the day: What state has the most professional hockey teams (all levels)? Hint: Why would I know this?
Suprising that he would visit Cornell this week. Usually recruits visit the week of a home game so that they can 'experience Lynah.' I guess schedules just didn't mesh.
Good Dallas Morning News article on McKee from Oct. 27 at

Its great that he's interested in Cornell. However, barring any early departures it would mean that next year we'd have 4 goalies (if he decides to come). And assuming Lenny's here...he'd probably be pretty far back on the depth chart. Given this, I'm not sure why he would want to come here...
Early departures....
Hmmm, me thinks the coaching staff knows something that we don't know.....hence the recruiting.
Ugh. We're not going to start that debate again, are we? Comes up often enough on USCHO...
