Thanks Jim.
Thanks Jim.
In just added more.

Thanks Jim.
I just added more.
Thanks, got them. Are these confirmed? The links off USCHO are frequently dead.

Thanks Jim.
I just added more.
Thanks, got them. Are these confirmed? The links off USCHO are frequently dead.
Those that would let me get on are confirmed. Some won't do anything till game time. But all are from the official college website so they should be good. They may require clicking on a link to the actual audio.
Reminder that Cornell MLax is at Yale right now:

Miami scores early in the third off a UNH turnover and leads 2-0. Both goals were flukey. UNH remains snakebit.
Looks like we might have our 3rd 4 beats 1 upset ever, all in the past 2 years. I think its time to start a "Only 1 hockey east team in the tournament please" thread on USCHO.
Looks like we might have our 3rd 4 beats 1 upset ever, all in the past 2 years. I think its time to start a "Only 1 hockey east team in the tournament please" thread on USCHO.
If SLU beats BC tonight, yes. If not... well... not so much.
UNH gets a shorty with 5 mins to go in the game, cutting the Miami lead to 2-1.
UNH gets called for another penalty, kills 1:42 of it, then Miami takes a penalty to break up UNH's shorty chance. Once UNH kills off the rest of their penalty, they will have 6x4 in the final minute of regulation. After sleeping through the game, the Wildcats can't ask for more than this.
Miami hangs on by their fingernails, 2-1 Miami and the 2nd 1-4 upset of the weekend (with the third going to 2 OT)
Miami holds off UNH and wins, 2-1.
AFA/Minn underway, PP for AFA
Air Force scores, 1-0! I am going to leave it to the people watching on TV to update this score, since I can't find any free audio link for the game.
Is Minn a pay service? That's what I get. I've got AF link here (http://http://goairforcefalcons.cstv.com/allaccess/)It's All-Access but free.
Air Force goes up 1-0 with the Minn goalie not covering the post.
Miami holds off UNH and wins, 2-1.
Going 2-0-1 against 1-seeds this season means a lot more if those 1-seeds can actually win a game. :-(
Air Force ends first period on a power-play--score still 1-0, but Air Force outshot Gophers 11-9 and is controlling game thus far!
And Minn finally converts, 1-1
Minnehaha scores...1-1. BUT, after a really great AF goalie performance, and a couple good opps for them...
BC scores against SLU, 1-0
SLU link above doesn't work. BC link works fine and they are much better announcers. Go Saints!
SLU link above doesn't work. BC link works fine and they are much better announcers. Go Saints!
SLU worked for me, but I had to use QT under Windoze and change the streaming transport. But their announcers are indeed homerific assholes.
Air force scores on a 5-3 pp!
But their announcers are indeed homerific assholes.
The play by play guy is okay. The color guy is a fool.
End of 1, BC 1 SLU 0. Neither team sounds all that excited so far. "Sparring match," and other cliches...
End 2: Air Force 2 Minnesota 1. If they lose back-to-back to Holy Cross and Air Force, do they have to disband?
(I keed. We all know Minny's going to come back and win. Dang it.)
End 2: Air Force 2 Minnesota 1. If they lose back-to-back to Holy Cross and Air Force, do they have to disband?
I think in that case the WCHA champ has to play a play-in game against the CCHA champ next season. :-P
We're completely audio-less on BC-SLU now. Growl.
3-1 Air Force
BC and SLU trade goals. 2-1 Eagles.
Minny scores on pp. Air Force leads, 3-2, 8 to go.
3-1 Air Force
It'll probably take a few more Gopher chokings before Minny becomes the new Hahvahd-one-and-done tournament team. But still, it doesn't even seem that fluky... from what I've been reading, AFA has been significantly outplaying Minnesota. I don't know how their goaltender's been doing, or if the Gophers are just really sucking it up, but they just need to hold on a little longer, or put one or two more past Briggs.
I found this USCHO forum comment particularly amusing:
"Altitude" excuses coming from the Twin Cities in 3...2..."
dang! minnetonka tied it up
Minny ties it, and gravity is still a law.
Minny 4-3. Goal under review.
Goals counts. 4-3 Gophers. 3 Minn goals in about 4 minutes.
4-3 Minny wins.
Greg, UND-Mich is not a 5:30 EDT start. MT yes, 7:30 EDT.
4-3 Minny wins.
Well AFA was the toughest of the two automatic qualifiers. ;-)
I leave the bar at 3-1, 10 minute drive home and get there just in time for the 4-3 final. So disappointing.
Goals counts. 4-3 Gophers. 3 Minn goals in about 4 minutes.
Now why can't our team learn how to do that? ;)
Perhaps we should play Providence again and let them go up 4-1 in the 3rd for motivation.
I don't know if that was quite woofing, but I jinxed it big time for the AFA. Hope F-16s don't come bomb my apartment complex tonight...
I can't get Maine (WZON radio) to work, but have UMass audio (http://www.wrnx.com/pages/umass.html)
Wow, the number 1 seeds have 2 losses, a 2OT win, and a 3 goal comeback. (I realize everyone else already realizes this but I'm the first to put it in writing! Ha-ha!)

Schedule (all times ET; sorry, John, do the math):

The math is really complicated, since I'm in CDT (UTC-5) but my laptop is on CET (UTC+1) today and CEST (UTC+2) tomorrow. Actually, I think the time changes during this evening's games. ::eek::
By the way, BC is now up 3-1, 11:30 left in the 3rd.

And if you're scoring at home, the ECAC has now scored 1 goal in its last 236 minutes of NCAA play. 0.25 goals per game.
SLU on PP, pulls the goalie. 2:30 left.
Come on you damn saints. Don't be like Harvard... and clarkson.
BC 4-1 winner. And so the drought continues. 18 seasons and counting.
Nice performance ECACHL teams, very Harvard- like. Well, next season is about 7 months away. I'll not hold my breath. Lets go M's LAX!
Lets go M's LAX!
The game has not passed Jeff Tambroni by.

Lets go M's LAX!
The game has not passed Jeff Tambroni by.
He gambled on the #1 ranking and lost.
And the ECAC(H(L)) continues its almost uninterrupted 17 year tradition of mediocrity in the NCAA's, with Cornell being the only real bright spot over the latter half of that time.
Feel free to bitch and moan about the people picking on the weakness of the ECAC over at USCHO, but it's been long enough since the ECAC has had any real, widespread, consistent success nationally that IMO we need to prove them wrong, not the other way around.
Until next year...
Kyle
Embarasssing for the ECAC
Maine jumps ahead of UMass 2-0 in the second period.
3-1 UM over ND
UMASS scores!... 2-1 Maine
(Cornell undergrad.. UMASS grad school over here.) So much for disgusing my IP address... :)
Apparently the Michigan-NoDak game is on http://ESPN360.com/ but only if your ISP has paid off ESPN.
Mich 3 NoDak 3 still in 1st
info on game blog at CHN
http://blog.collegehockeynews.com/?p=126
NoDak comes all the way back and leads, 4-3.
Maine wins 3-1. crap.
Jesus, 5-4 Michigan, 2 mins into the second period.
Now 5-5 Mich and UND
OK, this is insane. North Dakota ahead 6-5, early in the second period. They basically just played 25 minutes with no goaltending.
Now 5-5 Mich and UND
Oops, just as I posted, UND goes up 6-5.
NoDak 7 Michigan 5, not even halfway through the game. The Sioux are 5x6 on pp.

Now 5-5 Mich and UND
Oops, just as I posted, UND goes up 6-5.
Another power play, UND up 7-5.
Bina is singlehandedly destroying my bracket....
Go Blue!
Hansen is single-handedly putting NoDak on too many powerplays. Let's even it up a little for Michigan, that's what you'd do for an ECAC game Dave.
Let's get this game to double-double digits!
Most goals in an NCAA tourny game (both teams): 19. That's tough to beat.
So I have a question on that called back goal by MSU. Didn't the NCAA change to the NHL rule of it only matters if you are in the crease if it actually affects the goal?
So I have a question on that called back goal by MSU. Didn't the NCAA change to the NHL rule of it only matters if you are in the crease if it actually affects the goal?
Yes, but he bumped the goalie. I didn't think particularly hard, but, it wasn't like he had his skate in the other corner of the crease, he was in the way.
I couldn't get the MSU feed ($$$ all access it seemed) but I have the ND feed for free.
2nd period just ended, MSU 1 - ND 0
I couldn't get the MSU feed ($$$ all access it seemed) but I have the ND feed for free.
2nd period just ended, MSU 1 - ND 0
I listened to the whole feed. It's an All-Access but free. You need IE and I didn't try my Mac. Firefox, etc. NG.
OK, I've enjoyed watching Notre Dame football since I was a kid. And I had a friend when I lived in CT, who played for ND in the 1966 10-10 tie with MSU. So I've usually rooted for them over the years. But somehow I just couldn't stomach the thought of Touchdown Jesus lacing up skates and winning that championship, and certainly not before we put another one in the books. So, TJ, stick to the gridiron, eh.
OK, this is insane. North Dakota ahead 6-5, early in the second period. They basically just played 25 minutes with no goaltending.
They were shooting better than 30% through 2 periods. Was I the only one appalled by the lack of defense and goaltending in that game? Even the announcers refused to comment on it, saying that they will hold off on talking about the defensive play until they actually see some. Those first two periods might as well have been 6 on 6 with a trash can in net. ::screwy::
Granted both teams had some firepower, but there were draft picks on defense too, right?
I guess you can appreciate Schafer at least trying to make a team full of complete players.
