JuCoJunction.com (of the Rivals.com network of websites), is reporting that Cornell is recruiting 6'6" Demetrius Williamson of Bakersfield Community College.
For the long time followers of Cornell basketball, Williamson could be compared John McCord (class of '97).
Williamson was a track & field scholarship recruit for the University of Missouri during 2005-2006 and was an invited walk-on to the basketball team. But when Quin Snyder was fired, Williamson transferred to Bakersfield to pursue basketball full time.
His leaping ability and athleticism have earned him plenty of recruiting attention from the mid majors. He is taking an official visit to NCAA tourney participant Niagara this weekend. Cornell and Dartmouth are in the chase from the Ivy League.
He is originally from Chicago. Graduated high school as 6'2" and has grown 4" in the last year!
