I love hockey. But when you get crap like that it makes the sport into a joke. Watchingt he whole thing I couldn't help but think I was watching the Jerry Springer show or pro wrestling. The goalies coming out to fight? The coaches screaming at each other? Give me a break.
I'll take college rules - suspensions for fighting.
Forgive my ignorance, but I want to get this straight once and for all. When the opposing team drills your best player to the ice, per NHL tradition/folklore do you send the goons (or whatever it's called) line to fight or not? What is the proper or optimal action to take, if there is one?
How is this different from beaning the other team's best hitter in baseball?
