THANK YOU CLARKSON!!! THANK YOU KNIGHTS!!! THANK YOU LEGGIO!!
========
Given the importance of this game, it might be easier to keep track if they are all in one thread.
13 minutes left in the 1st. Clarkson 0-1 on the PP with one hit crossbar.
Q opened up strong, but then took that penalty.
I never thought I would see this... I am totally torn on who to root for. I want Tech to win... but I want cornell to get 5th... so torn...
Q going on the PP with 10:56 left in the first.
Clarkson did seem to have the more of the flow before the penalty. Not many whistles at all in this game.
Q had a few chances, but the knights kill it. 7:40 left in the first.
Matching minors. 4 v 4 hockey for the next 2 min, 5:40 left in the 1st.
#11 for Clarkson skated right down the slot but could not score. Auugghhg
that would be Chris D'Alvise... whose jersey is incredibly lucky...
Q on the pp but unable to capitalize. 1:30 left in teh first.
Clarkson gets a PP 7 seconds into the 2nd.
Let's Go Tech!
#19 for the Knights missed a chance on the PP. Still no score. 17 minutes left in the 2nd.
However, we had plenty of chances to secure our seeding and couldn't get it done, we have no right to expect Clarkson to do it for us (but it would be nice to get some help).
Well that wasn't a fun game against harvard. We can still get a 1st round bye with a Q loss here.
Cornell/Q will be tied for 4th with 24 points
Cornell/Q tied head to head
Record vs top 3 (ahead of tie for 4th) will be 3 points each
Record vs top 8... We have 6 points against princeton, harvard, Q only has 3, so whoever the 8th place team ends up being, Q will have to do 3 points better than them against us or else we win (and there's no such team). So we win the top 8 tiebreak.
Lets go Tech.
(update: My reasoning was a little flawed. If the 8th place tie required breaking the 4th place tie, there's more to do, fortunately I put today's scores in the playoff possibilities script on slack.net and we still come out on top of Q).
Go Tech!
Lotsa shots by the Knights but no goals.
Clarkson back on he PP. A bouncing puck in the slot, but it isn't bouncing in the net.
0-3 thus far tonight.
Common Knights. Do something useful for once in your misrable lives. ::bang::
The combination of two losses, for-pay video with no play by play, a dropped for-pay feed in the final minutes, and loss of free audio got me a bit ornry.
Q on the PP, 12:20 left in the 2nd.
Dartmouth just got the ENG to make it 3-1.
Q with a couple of good chances and nice saves by Leggio. Clarkson also had a chance short-hand.
A lot of shots hitting the goalies in the bread basket.
PP over, back to 5 v 5.
Hear it live from Radio Clarkson: http://hockey.clarkson.edu/
... for those who have, say, Comcast, where ESPNU TV isn't carried.
Q had another PP and more loose pucks around the Clarkson net, but Q is now 0-4 on the PP. 7 minutes left in the 2nd.
Midway in second, Q outshoots C, 22-17, aided by a bunch of Clarkson PPs in the second.
Q on a 5X3 for 65 secs.
Kill Tech Kill! C now on the PP
Another 0-fer, but Q almost scored shg when Leggio came out to play the puck and basically whiffed on the pass. Shot went wide.
3 seconds left in the 2nd, and things getting chippy. Q is back in the box.
Intermission.
With Clarkson's ECAC finish position assured, they seem disinclined to help a fellow New York State higher-ed institution. C'mon, Clarkson, what have we done to you lately?
5-1 on february 3rd @ lynah rink.
And so is Clarkson. Q draws a penalty on a short-handed attempt. 4v.4 for another 45 seconds.
18:37 left in the 3rd.
Finally off one of Clarkson's few PPs - Guthrie. 1-0 Clarkson
Guthrie puts the Knights up 1-0! PPG at 3:42 of the 3rd. Mason with the assist.
Clarkson in the box. 15:12 left in the 3rd.
5-1 on february 3rd @ lynah rink.
Right. There was that. Thanks.
Q with a shot on goal that seemed to catch Leggio under the chin. He seems to be ok, he's a hockey goalie. 33 seconds left on Q's pp.
Leggio playing very well, and once again will get the chance to be Clarkson best penalty killer.
Curley Tripping (or possibly Q skater losing an edge).
12:40 left.
What is the Clarkson record for two-minute minors in a single game? They appear to be closing in on whatever it is. Go, Tech.
"You can't count". Q bench minor for too many men. 4 v 4, then a Clarkson PP for 1:03
Clarkson had another opportunity short-handed.
Weller!!! Clarkson 2-0!!
Q back on the PP and is a very Cornell-esque 0-9.
9:56 left in the 3rd.
There's a group of Faithful getting drunker by the minute at the Hong Kong in Cambridge while I call in updates...
Leggio with another save, and Clarkson with another short-handed chance.
Clarkson kills it.
7:57 left.
Another penalty with 6:14 left. This time Q in the box for hooking.
If any of you have been having trouble with the high bandwidth Clarkson audio link, as I had been, the low-bandwidth version seems to be working much better.
Back to 4 v.4 for ~ 1 minute. Weller for hooking. Looked kind of lame to me.
5:12 left in the 3rd.

I'd have thought they'd gone to a sports bar to watch ESPNU.
4 minutes left, Q on a 1 minute pp and they pulled the goalie.
Radio Free Clarkson says with 5 minutes to play the Fighting Deertick faithful are leaving en masse with the score 2-0. Don't they know "a two goal lead is the most dangerous in all hockey"? I think you'd have to be handing out hash brownies in front of Lynah and even then it'd be a close call.
... especially after the Deerticks score to make it 2-1 with 3:11 left (extra attacker and PPG).
Time out Q. 28 seconds left on the PP. About 3:30 or so in the 3rd.
Radio Free Clarkson says with 5 minutes to play the Fighting Deertick faithful are leaving en masse with the score 2-0.
That explains the nice blue seats behind the Q goalie.
Damn. Brendan Wong scores. now 2-1 with 3:11 left in the 3rd.
Too many posts to look through, so if Tech wins, we get fourth. A tie or Quinny win means fifth.
Correct?
Glove save Leggion. 1:58 left. Q goalie pulled again.
"Potsdam Ponderosa time of the goal"...they've got to be kidding.
Clarkson misses empty net.
1:31 left in the 3rd.
Yes, as long as Quinnipiac loses, we back into fourth.
3-1 Clarkson! Empty net goal to seal the outscome. We hope. Cornell appears headed for a bye.
Yeah!! Clitsome ENG!!!!!
They're not going to tell us the Potsdam Ponderosa time of the empty net goal?
