This year's preview of Cornell lacrosse is on the way, but may not be finished before today's noon opener against Binghamton at Schoellkopf. Sorry about that.
Goal scorers so far, according to Game Tracker:
Mitchell from Glynn
Bartlett from Glynn
Lewis
Pittard from Mitchell
Glynn from Pittard
Glynn
Espey
Pittard (from Glynn?)
-----HALF-----
Glynn from Seibald
Bartlett from Mitchell
Glynn
No more updates. Gotta go. Sorry.
Anyone else trying to watch the lacrosse game with Binghamton? I'm getting a message saying Windows Media Player can't load the playlist...whatever that means.
The webcast of swimming has been canceled for "technical difficulties."
I get a different error message. May haveta watch Albny at Hopkins on ESPNU. No score in that game 5 min in.
Hi Al,
My error message is "Error: the specified protocol is unknown".
If you spent the $8 for the Dartmouth video, you can get some swimming coverage through the Dartmouth site.
Maybe the snow is affecting "No Access Today".
I've heard that gametime is delayed at least 15 minutes. There are All-Access problems, but they're working on it. They may open up a link to free video off the main Cornell Athletics if the problem isn't resolved soon.
Mine says "Windows Media Player encountered a problem when downloading the play list." I can watch archived games with no problem, and last night's disaster at Dartmouth came through fine--once they flipped the switch midway through the first period.
The only good news is that the erstwhile customer service person at CSTV couldn't make it work either--so she sent a message to someone. I asked to have someone call me when the webcast is made to work, but she said they aren't equipped to make outgoing calls.
What a waste this is.

Thanks for the update, Hillel.
Game just started. They're about two minutes in. No score. Game Tracker should be working shortly. No word on All-Access video at this time; they're working on it.
We won the opening faceoff. THAT would have been worth seeing.
Game Tracker is active.

Okay, but it'll dock you one letter grade ;)

The Binghamton face off guy is excellent. Winning more than 50 percent would be a triumph.
Gametracker says we've scored but the play-by-play doesn't show it. Mitchell. Lost the faceoff.
I thought we had a hotshot frosh faceoff guy, Hillel.
Cornell winning the ground ball war 7-2.
I thought we had a hotshot frosh faceoff guy, Hillel.
Not so far. Boykin was touted as a good faceoff guy, but it's going to be Schmicker, Glynn, Seibald, and Kirwan.
Yes, I thought it was Boykin. The Bawlmer crowd said he'd be a wonder.
Bartlett from Glynn, 2-0
"Watch" link (in red) is now active off of "schedule" on Athletics main page. No play-by-play, but decent video considering the weather (snow).
Lewis just scored from (?), now 3-0 Cornell.
Out of town scores; Albany is up 5-0 at Homewood field. Yup, you heard that right. 8 minutes left in the 2nd.
Pittard from Mitchell? 4-0 Cornell
And then Glynn from Pittard, 5-0 Cornell
Boom. Glynn unassisted. 6-0
Glynn's return is gold.
Espey unassisted. This is cool.
Pittard (from Glynn? If he didn't the assisnt, he shoulda)
Glynn for President
I swear I said he'd be big in my preview draft, but now no one will believe me.
FO: 6x10 Cornell
Pinch me.

I believe ya... although you still lose that letter grade ;)
Btw, Hopkins with a last second (literally) goal to make it 5-3 at the half.
Glynn from Seibald
Bartlett from Mitchell
Glynn unassisted
>>>Glynnmania!<<<
I'm about to turn into a pumpkin. Sorry everyone. I'm afraid the thread-heading post will no longer be updated.
Hopkins just went ahead in the last minute of the third, 6-5.
15-4 Cornell after three.
So JHU scores 7 unanswered goals over 32 minutes.
Albany comes back to win it 8-7.
Wow.

Wow.
Double Wow. Wow.
Final score: 19-4. LGR laxers!
Max Seibald had just one point, an assist, I believe. Is he still rebuilding from an injury or similar, or did Binghamton have his number? Nonetheless, we seem to have in Glynn a newfound scorer who wasn't anticipated to be (?)?

Interesting situation with Seibald. He seemed very aggressive on the ride, with a number of take-aways, yet never seemed to press for the goal on offense. It's possible Binghamton was marking him closely and that resulted in openings for others, and Cornell, smartly, took advantage. Wish we'd done that more against UMass last May. Boulukos kept trying to force the issue with Jack Reid, and came up with little to show for it. Once, early, he started making moves against Reid, drew the D toward himself, and then found Mitchell for an easy goal...but never tried it again.
Hillel will say he "anticipated" Glynn being a major scorer this year, and I believe anything Hillel says about Cornell lacrosse.

Look into my eyes. You are feeling sleepy. Very sleepy. Now pick up your checkbook. Good, very good. Now pick up a pen and write a seven-figure check to Cornell University Athletics. Excellent. Now write the following words on the memo line: "For the DeFlorio Family Field Turf, Drainage Project, and Endowed Men's Lacrosse Offensive Coordinator." Good. Now when I snap my fingers you will wake up forget this ever happened. Oh, and if you want to forget that you grew up in New Haven, you can forget that too. [*SNAP*]

Not a bad fantasy 'til you got to the New Haven part. Great town to grow up in during the '50s. Can we make it a Face-off coach, though?

It's great now, too, in a different way. Sorry, Al, couldn't resist.
