It's probably parallel facts, not cause and effect, but as more Big Red players go down with injuries and illness, our defense stiffens and the offense kicks into overdrive again. Of course, one period does not a game make.

Not that Schafer is thinking of this, but if Davenport stays and plays a solid third period, he's got a chance to be on the ECAC honor roll. Plus it makes the other teams think we've found a goaltender and a defense.

Hey, what happened to our offense??  It's like we turn off the faucet.

Oh oh, I hope this is not signaling a monumental Cornell collapse....::scared::

Or, are we saving some for next week in Cambridge??  Bring on 'em Hahvahd weenies.[/quote]

I read the Harvard thread at USCHO and someone there says that at least some members of the Harvard team want a trip to Lynah in the second round.

Nothing could be finer. It'd be nice to have 2 Ivies and 2 non in the ECAC FF but not as nice as getting to play Harvard twice more in Ithaca.

That would be fun, but I'd rather two more TUC wins, just in case.

For those who do believe in the woofing-god lifestyle, professional journalists and broadcasters get a bye. They're supposed to note that McKee's shutout string is now 137 minutes long and if he holds on for just four more min -- oops, sorry, David.

And BEAT them.  Nothing finer than beating Hahvahd on any given day.

Bring 'em on...I am ready for next weekend.

Chris, I meant McKee as in (generically; I believe it was McKee) one of the previous goalies who had a string of shutout minutes ... or back to back shutouts ... or approaching the 10th shutout of his career or the most season shutouts for a Cornell goalie ... the radio announcers mentioned he had only a few more minutes to go to attain the mark, and then milliseconds later the shutout evaporated. The point being there is no woofing god force field that takes what happens on the airwaves or on eLynah and affects play on the ice. While we hold it bad karma to mention these things here, the radio is a different thing. I am of the minority opinion on this.

Just a random fact in case anyone cares -- McKee's longest shutout streak at Cornell was 159 minutes and 27 seconds. He also had one of 158 minutes and 47 seconds.

Not technically a shutout streak but he also didn't give up a goal in over 154 minutes last year from the first period of the CC game to...well you know.

Edit: I just watch the video of Iggy's GWG against OSU and feel much better now.

That reminds me of the "twenty-two to eight" chant in the third in the Placid PIG. That's probably the last time we ran up 20+ on a team in a season, no?
