Cornell feed is currently effed (again). BU feed at:
http://www.bu.edu/athletics/webcast/index.html
No score, early.
1-0 Cornell.
Cornell feed now up.
Hynes scored the Cornell goal off a center ice turnover. LeNeveu just turned in a GREAT save on a BU pp.
Man, f--- the Cornell feed. What kind of f---in' bulls--- is this? So much for maximizing my "free trial." How can I "effectively evaluate" their product of I am not even given access to it? What possible explanation could there be for it being down?
Now we're forced to listen to the BU feed. If you can understand a damn word the announcers are saying through their thick Boston accents, you're doing far better than I.
Greg, are you linking to the Cornell feed thru cornellbigred.com? Mine says "please tune back during broadcast hours."
Adam, the CU feed is up now (I was getting the same message until about 3 minutes ago).
That's so weird because I just tried it after your post and it still says "please tune back...."
Arrrgh. How frustrating.
Hmm. Here is the link I am using (I swear it really is working):
javascript:loadlink('http://www.ocsn.com/media_server/play.smil?school=corn&content=rtsp://start.real.com/rd?pid=ocsn&url=corn/secure/live/audio_mhockey_12012002_171820.rm&pcode=corn&cpath=CNT')
It is the link off of CU sports.
Downs!!!!! 2-0!!!!
2-0 Cornell!!!
2-0. Screw the damn Cornell feed.
7:32 Cor Hynes 3 (Wallace)
14:46 Cor Downs 3 (Matt McRae, Paolini)
Unfortunately that link gives me the same "please tune back...." message. Anyone else having trouble?
Oh well, guess it's the thick Bostonian accents for me. This plight is tempered only by the fact that we're winning. :-P
Cornell on PP.
GOALLLL.....Steve Baby!!!
3-0 Cornell.
Baby PP goal. BU announcers depressed.
First period ends.
3-0 Cornell.
End of 1, 3-0. Score in first periods this weekend: 6-0.
Shots 14-8, Cornell.
Cornell feed is now a dialtone.
this is just silly
BU feed at:
http://www.bu.edu/athletics/webcast...
It is kind of amusing to listen to depressed announcers....
More good saves by LeNeveu on a BU pp.
GOALLLLL......Cornell 4-0.
these guys do sound miserable
Cornell feed is back up. For now.
Cornell feed is back up. Yee-fucking-haw.
The 4th goal:
11:33 Cor Hornby 4 (Cam Abbott 4, Matt McRae 4)
Cornell with two great chances in the final couple seconds of the second. 4-0, after two.
BU announcers about to interview Grady between periods.
According to Livestats, there were five forwards on the ice for Cornell's third (a PPG) and fourth goals.
I thought the 4th goal was 4x4.
2nd goal was 4x4. Fourth goal: Hornby, Abbott, Matt McRae, Iggulden, Paolini--according to Livestats.
4-1 darn. It was shorthanded (3 on 4).
Sucky way to lose a shutout. Almost as bad as yesterday's goal.
The radio feed cut out briefly, and while it did, Cornell scored. Knoepfli (Pegoraro, Palahicky).
5-1 Cornell.
Would be nice if our co-captain would stay out of the penalty box.
:-) knoepfli on goal 5, final 5-1.
5-1 Cornell. Final.
Same old story: Cornell plays suffocating defense, offense creates nice opportunities especially on the power play, Lenny is a rock in goal, Sam Paolini's dad wins the 50-50 raffle.
Screw BU.
> Sam Paolini's dad wins the 50-50 raffle.
LOL. Is that 4 times now?
Sweet sweep. On we go to Western Michigan.
Their was nothing wrong with that last penalty he took. On the way back from the Goal 5 celebration as Palahicky was skating back to the bench, VanderGulik from BU got in his way, elbowed him in the face, and tried to hit him. And he stayed on for the next shift. So Baby just hit him, then hit him again to the ground, and held him there, with every intention of getting whistled for it. Nothing wrong with that when your the 6' 5'' captain and your team is up 5-1 late in the third.
"The radio feed cut out briefly, and while it did, Cornell scored. Knoepfli (Pegoraro, Palahicky)."
What's up with that? Combined with the drop outs earlier and against Brown, it's enough to make one paranoid (par-annoyed). If this keeps up I may have to resort to the drastic action of sending Laura S. an e-mail.
I signed up for this College Sports Pass becuase I couldn't stand not knowing the score against Princeton. After listening to the BU announcers (zzzzzzzzz yawn) it is clear that Adam makes it worth the trouble. Now if the technical crew can get on top of things.
Oh yeah, great job guys! Now GO FOR TWO IN KALAMAZOO (tm, c2002)
As if his blown calls weren't annoying enough, the scoresheet at collegehockeystats.com says he gave out lots of penalties at the end of the game - maybe he didn't want to further lose control of a game he'd already screwed up:
BU-10 Justin Maiser (2-Elbowing) 20:00
BU-11 Ryan Whitney (2-Roughing) 20:00
COR-10 Greg Hornby (2-Instigating) 20:00
COR-11 Greg Hornby (2-Roughing) 20:00
COR-12 Greg Hornby (10-Misconduct) 20:00
COR-13 Travis Bell (2-Roughing) 20:00
At least there weren't DQs in any of this.
Ken '71
What the point of all of those are, I'm not quite sure (except for Hornby, who was definitely involved in some extra-curriculars...with Maiser or Whitney, I forget), but I do give Hansen credit for controlling the game in the 3rd and not letting thing get out of hand....e.g., the roughing that Palahicky drew (very nicely, I might add) by letting the BU get in a few jabs to his face, the roughing on the Midget, the tripping to Hynes, etc.
Hansen put the guys in the box in the 3rd, instead of letting things get truly ugly (like vs. Brown).
Does the Hornby penalty mean that he misses the first game against WMU?
Great win and great weekend for the RED!!! I wish I could have listened to game 2.
No, it was not a DQ.
The WHCU feed actually cut out. We had to leave after per. 2 to make it back to NJ, so we were listening to the 3rd per. in the car. The 5th goal came somewhere around Richford on Rt. 79.
Downs made a great shot from the blue line on his goal. The shorthanded goal was too bad -- I thought McCrae was going to stop that guy, and from what I heard he made some good moves around Dave. Man, they were getting cranky though. I think Sabo (#11) was going to lose it after that last goal. From five different players, no less! (I'm never gonna get to throw my hat... ) Their sneaky moves became more overt as their time was running out (though that clipping call was quite impressive). We definitely had our fill of taunting!! I was worried for perhaps the first eight minutes of Saturday's game, but no more.
[q]I thought McCrae was going to stop that guy[/q]
He pretty much did. Maybe somewhat illegally from behind, but he definitely was riding Mullen when the goal was scored. From my angle, it seemed like Mullen was pretty much on his stomach and swung at the puck while lying on the ground, putting it past Lenny. 50% good job staying with the puck, 50% luck.
Jordan I agree 100%, in fact I thought Hansen was going to award a penalty shot if Mullen's shot didn't go in the net. If I remember correctly he was definitely going to call a penalty and a justified one at that. Although it was kind of a crappy way to lose a shut out it's still a win.
