Notes: FIRST: 7:09 pm game under way. Union going left to right on the radio for those who care. (For the Cornell radio play by play, that would be Cornell going right to left.) 7:09:30 "Let's go Red" heard on the Union radio feed. Scrivens in net. Very nice Union audio feed.Shots 9-7 Cornell after 1
SECOND: Second under way 8:00 pm. No Carefoot. "I think I'm not gong out on a limb saying he won't be back tonight" - Union announcers
THIRD: Romany goal circa 1:00 disallowed. Net off mooring?
Yay it's a Bill Howard thread!
Schafer is ill, so the television interview was with Brekke
Union audio is still music (a skipping CD, at that), so I called - they're experiencing technical difficulties and will have the game up ASAP.
Mrazek for Union. Didn't catch who's in net for Cornell.
Scrivens
Scrivens.
Damn, no video.
For some reason, my audio is horrible. There is intermittent static, it sounds like there is a deep, distorted, electronic voice in the background, and the sound is distant. Anyone else having this problem? There is some interference coming from something.
No TV where I am, no Cornell CSTV radio feed yet, S.N.A.F.U. LGR!
No CSTV gametracker but a graphically nicer live stats feed from our friends at Union: [unionathletics.com]
Union audio feed at: [www.teamline.cc]
No word on webcast feed from the upstate NY Time-Warner feed. If someone has word on it, please post it ASAP. (And another reason to have a bunch of Slingbox servers back in Ithaca.)
Schafer actually stayed back in Ithaca. Still recovering from surgery.
I shut it off and started it up again. Not very loud, but at least the sound is clear now.
No Schafer tonight.
Union feed at http://wruc.union.edu/listenonline.asp - now working fine.
'Cutch in the penalty box.
First penalty of the game. Against Cornell. McCutcheon.
Union going left to right on the radio for those who care. (For the Cornell radio play by play, that would be Cornell going right to left.)
What if I cricle around to the back of my monitor? :-)
Schafer actually stayed back in Ithaca. Still recovering from surgery.
What sort of surgery?
Killed off.

You'd have the reverse angle audio feed. Sheesh, everybody knows that. Also your left and right audio channels would be reversed.

They seem to always say "surgery." I have no idea.

Let no one be the first to suggest who'd have the information and how you'd reach him. We've worn that one kind of thin. Plus he's graduating, so you can't use it after this season. Unless it becomes inside lore like "Wen-do-ver"
RPI already behind 2-0 on Harkness Night.
Goal Cornell!!!
Goal Cornell!!!
Blake Gallagher
Damn. Sounds like a home game.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd... the feed drops.
Damn. Sounds like a home game.
That's because there looks to be no one there from onion. What you can see on TV is deserted.
Just tuned in and the Union feed is fine. No hockey going on, though.
so much for a shutout!
I got it back on now, but the sound quality sucks tonight for some reason. I have had plenty of video problems in the past, but when it is just audio there is usually no problem.
So much for that lead. :-(

Damn. Sounds like a home game.
That's because there looks to be no one there from onion. What you can see on TV is deserted.
Maybe we should shut up.
back on the power kill.

2 minutes for replying to (and quoting) your own post.
Penalty Kevin McLeon 12:53 hooking Cornell's second (none for Union)
Mitch Carefoot scored, and was then knocked over by a Union player, and the net was knocked down, after the goal was scored. Not yet sure if the goal counts. He was skated off the ice, into the locker room.
SHG?!?!?!? Come on...
With benefit of replay, that ought to be an elbow and the goal ought to count
Goal, Cornell! Carefoot SHG! - Correct the thread title score.
WAS counted. Cornell now up 2-1
UC announcers think the hit was clean but concerned that Mitch may have a concussion -- he was doing the jelly leg going off.
Finally!
Cornell on the Power Play
Back to even strength and...
They still suck
And the feed is now telling me that the event has not yet begun even though I was just listening to it!!!
I tried the Union feed, but when I try to open Windows Media or Quicktime, my company laptop that I am using keeps opening the ACER (brand) DVD section and trying to get me to pick a directory. I don't know why it won't just open.
Great first period of play for Cornell.
Hope Mitch is okay.
Let's hope that they keep that intensity up for the rest of the game!

You wanna be more specific? ::nut::
At this point, we can only laugh about the powerplay. Mike (Brent) should just pull names out of a hat and send them out there.
Is everybody elses All-Access out? It tells me the game hasn't begun.
I have had horrible sound quality throughout the game, then I lost the feed right after Gallagher scored and again right after Union scored. I haven't gotten the feed back yet. To top it off, I keep getting the voice telling me the event hasn't started yet. ::bang::
Acer is one of the leading technology providers in Europe. Maybe the audio would be better with a 200x100 rink.

Maybe Mike (not Brent) is recovering from watching video of the powerplay.
CSTV sucks but it doesn't belong on Page One because it's old news. Go with the Union feed. Audio is good quality, when it drops you click Start and you're back in 10 seconds. Go to:
http://www.teamline.cc/free_listen?teamcode=1160&eventcode=25&status=PFU
That could be why it's been such an extended recovery
QuoteThe sound quality of the Cornell-Union hockey game has been scratchy and poor throughout the game. Many of the other listeners posting on the fan forum and I lost the feed shortly into the game and then again towards the end of the 1st period. Now we can not reaccess the feed, continually recieving a message stating that the event has not started yet.
Thank you in advance for promptly addressing this issue.
I didn't see a phone number, so I sent this e-mail.
2nd period is underway.
GOAL!
Krantx from Toph. at 1:40 in the 2nd
My computer is an Acer. I hadn't heard of them before but I do like it. Do you know how to directly access the Union link without the computer trying to get me to choose a path? Is there a bypass or something so it doesn't bring up a video version of a remote control that only seems to want me to choose from a file already on the computer instead of an internet link?
Wrestlers leading Penn 16-3 after the five highest weights.
Another power play for Cornell
Decline it.
And a power Kill. Evan Barlow 2 minutes for high sticking.
Scott with 12 assists in league play. Tied for 3rd, just 2 behind the conference leader.
Try to paste in this link, see if it works. just close up the space after the www part:
www .teamline.cc/free_listen?teamcode=1160&eventcode=25&status=PFU
10 minutes into second
Shots, 13-13
Cornell 2 PPs, Union 3 PPs (Cornell 1 SHG, no PPGs, but you suspected that)
Faceoffs, Union 19x31
Union ahead on faceoffs 19-12. One of the very few times Cornell has not had a sizeable advantage on draws this season.
Thanks. I just tried this and I also tried your other link, but apparently I don't have Java on my computer. I tried installing it three different times, but I keep getting an error relating to my photos folder for some reason.
Some-Access is working again for the moment.
Power play, Cornell
Wakita takes down Bitz. PP, Cornell. Big Red fan bathroom break time.
Was able to hear the Cowbell, and cornell fans just now. Which is a good thing!
Union announcers say Union got off a shot on Scrivens as he was "skating circles in the crease ... he hasn't been particularly sharp tonight."
Coincidental penalities, Kennedy and Schwann.
Kennedy and Schwann go off. 4x4 at 15:00
back to 5 on 5
and another Cornell penalty kill.
sorry. Not sure how to delete a post, if it's even possible.
The announcers on the tv feed are horrible.
Earlier in the 2nd they said Carefoot was back in the game, they just said "Mike Krueger, oh not make that mike Krantz"
Cornell power play.
Union draws 5th penalty, 4th PP for Cornell ... after CU kills off its own penalty. last minute of seocnd.
Union radio announcer just said: "Scrivens looks beatable. He doesn't look very comfortable in net and he's given up a lot of rebounds."
Sounds familiar, doesn't it!
After two, Cornell extends its lead from 2-1 to 3-1, but it sounds as if this is not a crushing game like Cornell put on Clarkson last week.
Shots, Union 20-18
PP, both 0x4
Faceoffs, Union 23x43
And the Union announcers make it sound as if Cornell isn't exactly running away from Union. Plus Carefoot is hurt. Sheesh, wonder what it's like to be Mitch's family, back in Alberta (Sask?) wondering if he's okay. I bet if we're annoyed by lousy video and audio, they must really be unhappy with their lifeline cut to their son's game.
Brown airball 3-point attempt with 1.9 seconds left. Cornell ball, up 61-59.
Once you create a post, it's there unless Age deletes it. So like you did, just blank it and add (disregard) to the subject line. Or think of something witty to say to replace the errant post. "LGR!" like Blue Nun is always correct.
Final. Cornell 61, Brown 59.
Faceoffs are 23-20, at least it's evening out.
Union outshot Cornell 13-9 in the second period. This is still a competitive game.
Unionn announcers say there's "a few empty seats ... about 2,000 people [attending]". TV viewers report many people dressed, apparently, as empty seats.
Yea, tv said 1,936. There are many open seats.
Breakaway, colgate, resulting in a goal.
and then Tony Ramano scores, on a rebound!
Well dang, that wasn't a good way to start a period.
DAMN!
No goal. was put in by a foot, not a stick.
Well dang, that wasn't a good way to continue the start of a period.
No goal. Taken off the board.
and a Cornell penalty.
Let's Go Red!
Many UC chances all of a sudden.
Upcoming Weekend Outlook
Do not expect the touchdown performance Cornell put up in December. Union has gone 8-8 since that game and has sporadically played some pretty good hockey. They have beaten Clarkson and Dartmouth, showing that anybody can beat anybody. Cornell always seems to play a close game with Union on the road and expect no different this time around. Neither team scores a ton of goals so this should be a relatively low-scoring affair. Even if they are possibly the worst team in the very deep, parity-filled ECACHL, no team rolls over, especially at home. After getting embarrassed at Lynah, expect Union to come out fired up.
Cornell 3 - Union 2
Union goal.
DAMN
this is not looking good for us.
Dartmouth beats Quinnipiac. This is a big chance to pick up ground on the Skating Deer Ticks.
Union ties it up.
And Brendan Nash is going off for tripping.
No Access audio down again...
Union going to the PP. Penalty on Nash.
So explain this rule to me? If you're a goalie and you're in trouble, you can accidentally kick the net off its moorings to stop the play?
Cornell whistled off
OK, I had a 2-0 on game threads started. But I may be on the bench tomorrow along with ??? Scrivens ??? Davenport ???
Paging Mr. DiLeo?
C'mon, Bill, you can still pull this one out!
Cornell Power Play!
Let's use it!
Cornell pp coming up?
.9 left in the 3rd. Then 26 seconds of PP in overtime.
Crap!
Cornell on the Kill.
Mugford got a penalty 54 seconds in.
Ugh. Mugford.
Time out Union.
Back to even strength
Cornell time out
3-3 final. Disappointing.
Sort of sums up the season.
Sort of sums up the season.
If we take the 5-0-0 start as indicative of what should have been. After the last 7 weeks, there isn't much doubt that was a tease, and this is rightly a .500 team.
We used to be a .550+ team which, when the wheels fell off, dropped to .400. I'll take a .650+ team whose catastrophy rebuilding scenario still has them hovering around .500.
It isn't written anywhere that it's our Harkness-given right to win even one game.
